Eros and Society Series: Embracing Eros in Public Speaking with Miroslav Bardović

Summary In this episode of the Institute New Paradigm Intimacy podcast, host Elizabeth and guest Miroslav Bardović explore the integration of Eros into public speaking and teaching. They discuss the importance of aliveness, vulnerability, and authenticity in communication, particularly in the context of sexuality. The conversation emphasizes the need for speakers to connect with their true selves and the audience, creating a space where both can experience a sense of aliveness. They also touch on the challenges of discussing sexuality and the journey of refining one's voice and message. Takeaways • Aliveness is essential in teaching and public speaking. • Vulnerability should not be a technique but a genuine connection. • Authenticity in speaking creates trust and engagement. • Transmission involves activating a sense of aliveness in the audience. • The cultural environment influences how messages are received. • Unpolished Eros can be more impactful than polished content. • Navigating sexuality in discourse requires sensitivity and awareness. • Reflection and coaching are key to personal growth in speaking. • Embracing the unpolished allows for deeper connection and authenticity. • The journey of refining one's voice is ongoing and valuable. Keywords Eros, public speaking, vulnerability, teaching, transmission, sexuality, aliveness, intimacy, coaching, personal growth Miroslav Bardović (https://www.miroslavp.com/) is a TedX speaker, facilitator and best-selling author who has worked with over 20,000 people across 4 continents supporting them to bring their message to the world.
