Earth Observation Saves Lives: How the Copernicus Program Combats Climate Change and Natural Disasters
In thisepisode of our expert interview series on INTERGEO TV, we delve into thetransformative power of Earth observation with Dr. Godela Roßner, Head of EarthObservation at the German Space Agency (DLR). Join us as we explore how theCopernicus program, a joint initiative by the European Commission and theEuropean Space Agency, is revolutionizing the fight against climate change andnatural disasters. Dr. Roßner shares her insights on the critical role of satellite data inmonitoring environmental changes and providing actionable information duringemergencies. As she highlights, "Earth observation is key for our life onEarth and helps save lives by providing critical information during naturaldisasters." Discover how Copernicus is not only tracking globalenvironmental trends, such as record-breaking temperatures and ocean warming, but also supporting sustainable practices in land management and predictingextreme weather events. From managing forests and agricultural resources to protecting biodiversity inthe Amazon rainforest, Copernicus offers a global perspective essential forbuilding a sustainable and resilient future. Don't miss this in-depthdiscussion on the Copernicus program's vital contributions to environmentalmonitoring and disaster management.

The Future of Real Estate Valuation: Insights from Expert Peter Ache on Transparency and Technology
Welcome to INTERGEO TV, where Peter Ache, an authority in real estate valuation, discusses
the importance of transparency in real estate markets, highlighting that many online valuation platforms lack true transparency, relying on asking prices and undisclosed algorithms. Genuine transparency requires reliable data on actual transactions.
Geodesists are crucial in providing accurate geodata for property assessments, integrating
geographic and valuation data for better accuracy. Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming real estate valuation, but its effectiveness depends on high-quality data. Germany needs to improve its data standards to fully leverage AI.
Looking ahead, Ache envisions a future where AI and comprehensive geo-databases enable
precise valuations and informed decision-making. He advocates for collaboration among geodesists and the creation of a central database to achieve this vision.
Join us for insights into the future of real estate valuation, transparency, and technology.

Use of Satellite and Geospatial Data in Crises Management
In this episode of INTERGEO TV, we explore the critical role of satellite and geospatial data in managing humanitarian crises and natural disasters with Dr. Anne Schneibel, a renowned expert in remote sensing and humanitarian aid. Dr. Schneibel, a research associate at the German Remote Sensing Data Center (DFD) at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), coordinates projects that use satellite data for disaster response. During the severe flooding in southern Germany, her team provided essential crisis information to authorities and aid
organizations. Reflecting on the recent floods in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, Dr. Schneibel emphasizes the importance of timely information for humanitarian organizations and public authorities. Her team utilized aerial imagery in addition to satellite data to deliver accurate and prompt information during the crisis. She highlights the necessity of flexibility in their approach, as each crisis requires different data sources and methods. Join us for insights into how geospatial data is revolutionizing crisis management and aiding humanitarian efforts.
