After working full-time to put herself through the University of Alabama at Birmingham in four years, Perryn Carroll received a full scholarship to attend Cumberland School of Law at Samford University where she was a leader in the classroom and in extracurricular activities. At Cumberland, she was honored by being appointed to the American Journal of Trial Advocacy Law Review, and became a published legal author, as well as one of only three Associate Justices from her class appointed to the Henry Upson Sims Moot Court Board. Perryn won multiple awards in advocacy competitions while in law school and gained the respect of her classmates and professors. After law school, Perryn was awarded a Judicial Clerkship to the Supreme Court of Alabama. Following her Clerkship, Perryn returned to Birmingham and began the private practice of law. In her robust law practice, Perryn has represented individual as well as for-profit and nonprofit business clients in a wide variety of legal matters. The issues in which she has successfully guided her clients have regularly included sensitive nonprofit issues, multi- million-dollar, complex litigation, and long-range administrative planning. After expertly guiding clients through a myriad of transactions, mergers & acquisitions, and countless trials and appeals in state and federal courts and holding the Martindale- Hubbell highest AV® Attorney Rating in both ethics and legal capability, Perryn is fully prepared and has the leadership skills, integrity and experience necessary to exceed the expectations of those who rely on her. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Perryn has always maintained a consistent and passionate volunteer involvement in the Birmingham community. Foremost of these efforts is her twenty-five years of volunteer work for the Jimmie Hale Mission where she has served on every Board committee. Her commitment to the betterment of others and to the sharing of her gifts has led to the cultivation of a deep and wide scope of relationships. Community leaders trust and respect Perryn and know that they can depend on her. In September 2022, Perryn was led to move from career to calling when she became the Executive Director of the Jimmie Hale Mission. Perryn brings her 25 years of experience working with the Mission, as well as her 30 years of counseling nonprofit and for profit businesses with her to lead the Jimmie Hale Mission in its efforts to help the increasing homeless and hurting population in our community. Perryn has served on the board of Aletheia House for 8 years, is a member of the 2024 Class of Leadership Birmingham, and is active in her church, Canterbury Methodist. Prior to her executive position, she served as a Senior Attorney in the City of Birmingham’s Office of the City Attorney, where she worked in the litigation and transaction divisions primarily handling contracts, real estate transactions and matters involving the Birmingham Land Bank Authority. Caroline assisted in the creation of the legal process utilized by Land Bank attorneys to quiet title to eligible tax delinquent properties throughout the City of Birmingham. Caroline received her Juris Doctorate from the Cumberland School of Law, Samford University and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English from Oakwood University, Huntsville, Alabama.
