[…] So in some senses, perhaps this leaves the question of what to do about U.S. diesel unanswered. And so Trump has reached an agreement with Russia to send the US millions of barrels, and the Russians talked about 500,000 tons of diesel being now allowed to be exported, presumably to the US. Russia has historically been a major diesel exporter, but its refinery capacity has been significantly impacted by ever more effective Ukrainian strikes over the last few years that has left Russia struggling to meet its domestic demand, never mind about exports. And of course, this raises the crucial question about whether Russia can actually supply meaningful amounts of diesel to the US. […]
