Hi, and welcome to my sports podcast! Some of you might already know me from Irrelevant the Podcast, but this time I’m diving into the world of sports. While I can’t claim to be an expert on every sport, that’s where my special guests come in. Each week, I’ll be joined by athletes, professionals, and fans who will share their insights, experiences, and perspectives on what’s happening across the sports world. Together, we’ll break down the latest stories, debates, and moments that keep us all talking.
Andrew Johnson has turned fur, foam, and full-throttle game days into a career. Now the Senior Mascot Program Manager for the Houston Texans, Andrew’s journey started behind the scenes as a youth department intern with Time Warner Cable Metro Sports before jumping into mascot life with the Kansas City Brigade and Northwest Missouri State University. After a brief break from performing, he came back stronger as a KC Wolf intern and alternate with the Kansas City Chiefs—a full-circle moment that helped set the stage for a career in big-league entertainment.
With stops at the Missouri Mavericks, Sporting Kansas City, Kansas City Royals, and Dallas Stars, Andrew has mastered the art of stunts, storytelling, and sideline spectacle. In this episode, he takes us inside NFL game day, shares his favorite mascot moments, reflects on the legacy of TORO, and drops advice for anyone hoping to make a career out of bringing the energy to the crowd.
