Celebrating our community and raising funds for a cause with an incredible group of doers!  Special guest Jillian Hiscock, a passionate connector of people, shares her journey from helping first generation college students thrive to founding A Bar of Their Own, MN’s first all-women’s sports bar and a community gathering place with heart. Musical guest Sarah Morris performs gorgeous songs that illuminate belonging to each other, spreading kindness and loving that special glow. Stephanie March, creator of The Salt Cure Restaurant Recovery Fund, details the urgent need in the Twin Cities, post ICE occupation, to support restaurants and their workers. Our generous audience donated over $6500 to this fund! Ann Treacy with Women’s March MN takes us through the dedication of this all-volunteer organization to plan, organize and live stream every event, vigil and march! Ep. 45 The Power of One – LIVE – with Gwen Walz, Chastity Brown & Rev. Ingrid Rasmussen

This beautiful show was recorded live in December 2025, just prior to the surge escalating here is MN – Minnesota’s delightful First Lady Gwen Walz shares her love of teaching and the students who nurtured her, the transformational experiences that propelled Gwen and her husband Tim into a life of politics AND “the call” from Kamala Harris that unleashed a whirlwind 90 days of stump speeches, rallies and dog parks. Musical guest Chastity Brown brings us powerful songs that express anger for love’s sake, that break through the walls we’ve built around ourselves and that ultimately implore us to just Say It. Rev. Ingrid Rasmussen embodies grace as she answers the call to step up as a leader both for the community during the immigration raids and for a growing clergy coalition calling for an end to weapons of war in our neighborhoods. Zippy Laske and violinist DGS perform a stunning new song that underscores the Power of One. Sue Scott and actor Melissa Denton celebrate the strong shoulders we’re standing on. And the audience helps us sing about this little light. Published 30 Jul 2026 · Transcript excerpt

[…] Now by itself, it's not clear at all what this image is about. Going deeper, you realize it's some of the 100 plus people who couldn't get into the Emanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown, Wisconsin on May 20th to witness in person the performance of A Mother of a Revolution by the Watertown High School Wind Symphony. This piece had been banned by the Watertown School Board days before it was to be part of a scheduled high school concert. The school board claimed it glorified political violence and promoted indoctrination. Following school walkouts and protests, the Lutheran Church stepped up as an alternative venue, and the composer Omar Thomas decided to fly in from Austin, Texas and conduct the piece himself. […]
