Muslims Are Growing, Yet Our Voice Is Getting Weaker | Islamophobia & Future of Our Community

Over the past four decades, the Muslim community in North America has grown from small gatherings in homes and basements into established masjids, schools, institutions, businesses, and community organizations. But with that growth comes an important question: Have we continued to clearly communicate and represent the core message of Islam? In this Jumu'ah Khutbah, Imam Azhar Subedar reflects on the growth of the Muslim community and the responsibility that comes with it. He explains why institutions, professional success, charitable work, and community development are important, but cannot replace the responsibility of understanding and communicating Islam.Drawing lessons from the Quran and the examples of Ibrahim and Musa, the khutbah explores the importance of proactively communicating the message of Islam rather than allowing others to define it for us.The lecture also uses familiar examples from brands such as Coca-Cola and McDonald's to explain why a consistent message matters. The same principle applies to how Muslims represent their faith through their words, character, actions, and everyday interactions.Ultimately, the reminder turns the responsibility back toward each individual Muslim: learn your faith, understand what Islam teaches, recognize how its message is being represented, and take responsibility for representing Islam with knowledge, confidence, and good character.📌 What You Will Learn• How the Muslim community in North America has developed over the past four decades• Why building institutions is only part of the community's responsibility• The importance of reaffirming Islam's core message• Lessons from Ibrahim and Musa on communicating the truth• What Muslims can learn from consistent messaging and branding• Why others should not be allowed to define the story of Islam• The mission of Prophet Muhammad to convey the message• Why every Muslim has a role in representing Islam• How Islam is demonstrated through character and action• Why learning your faith is essential to representing it accurately⏳ Chapters00:00 The Growth of the Muslim Community in North America05:48 A New Generation of Muslim Professionals07:51 The One Area Where We Fell Behind09:03 Why Reaffirming Our Core Message Matters11:25 Lessons From Ibrahim and Musa13:35 What Does It Mean to "Market" Islam?14:01 What Coca-Cola Can Teach Us About Branding15:15 When Others Define Your Story16:19 The Mission of Prophet Muhammad19:31 What Is Our Response?22:04 Islam Is Demonstrated Through Action23:31 Take Responsibility for Your Role24:38 Learn Your Faith and Understand the Narrative26:33 Final Reminder and Dua🎤 About The SpeakerImam Azhar Subedar is an Islamic speaker who delivers reminders rooted in the Quran and Sunnah, addressing the spiritual and social responsibilities of Muslims in contemporary society.📺 Watch LiveWatch live on YouTube and Instagram:@israfoundation🤝 Support ISRAhttps://israfoundation.com/support📅 Eventshttps://www.israfoundation.com/events🌐 Websitehttps://israfoundation.com📍 ISRA HQ930 W.
