[…] With ALS, those motor neurons die progressively. So for me, that started with my left foot stopped being able to pick up and flex this way. So I started having trouble walking and I started limping. And that happens to every muscle in your body over time. So that could be your arms, your core, your neck, all the way to the muscles that help control your voice box and your lungs, which means for ALS, For people with ALS, the ability to breathe and to speak and to swallow all becomes reliant on machines if that's possible. So I'm expected to be fully paralyzed because of ALS. Usually they give you a timeframe of about two to five years for a prognosis when you're diagnosed. […]
