Casey and Cody discuss the seemingly under-discussed game series "Gears of War", that helped define the 7th Generation of game consoles and created what we now know as the third-person cover shooter. These two hosts will use their comedic wit and charm to convince the current caretakers of Gears of War, The Coalition, to bring them on as consultants to make sure the latest Gears of War game is as good as it can possibly be.
Gears of War franchise experts Casey and Cody dissect Gears of War 2, revealing its strengths and weaknesses in this replay through of the series.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition: The Ultimate Retrospective
Just a heads up, we had a bit of a hardware failure in this episode, and the audio is a little scratchy and static-y in some places. It doesn't last too long, so we hope it doesn't ruin your enjoyment of the episode. Saying that this episode we go back to the start, and by that we mean the remaster of the start of the series with Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. Where we start our journey on the planet Sera and find out if the extra levels that were added in the original PC port of the game were really worth playing through. (They were not). Enjoy!

A Hypothetical Gears of War TV Show From Another Universe
Cody traveled the multiverse through various means, and has returned with the knowledge of the Gears of War TV show that aired in May of 2022. (Any resemblance to the television program "Halo" of Paramount+ is pure coincidence brought about by the infinite randomness of the multiverse.

Gears of War 4: A Retrospective
Casey and Cody revisit the beginning of the new Gears trilogy with Gears of War 4. Will they suffer through the sound of silence as they face the new threat from the swarm? Or will they somehow make the entire conversation about random Halo development trivia, and bring up every single AAA gaming franchise from Mass Effect to Borderlands, with a splash of Watch Dogs and Dead Space to really spice things up. Needless to say this is a necessary listen as the two hosts continue on with their "Most obnoxious way to replay the Gears franchise" journey. Stick around for the Hammerburst minute!

Talkin' Trailers
Casey and Cody discuss the most important part of game development: marketing. Starting with the humble, yet groundbreaking, eponymous "Mad World" trailer, followed by how we want all the kids on Twitter-dot-com to watch a video about how cool Gears: Tactics is. And of course, we talk about how we would market Gears 6.
(Yeah I know what the word eponymous means, it was a part of clue in a crossword puzzle, the answer was "RoboCop" btw)
Below you can see all the trailers we watched, and perhaps figure out what our final rankings are, because we mention that as an idea, but then completely throw it away.

Gears of War 3: A Retrospective
Casey and Cody begin tackling the task of replaying and retrospective-ing the Gears of War franchise. Starting with Gears of War 3, the third game in the series, and the end of the first trilogy. Why do they start half way through the series, you may ask? Well you're just going to have to listen to their explanation as to why.
Casey begins the now famous "Hammerburst Minute", and shares his love-affair with Baird. Cody is convinced that the entire plot of Gears of War 3 was plagiarized from a Pokémon game only he has heard of, and shares some details of Gear of War 3's development he learned in about in a book, and there's a lot more involvement from Jimmy Fallon than you would be expecting.
