They cancelled all of their bank cards, replaced every important document, and eventually forgot about it. Then, just two days ago, six years later, they came home and found the wallet in that same bedside drawer. Everything was still inside. Every card, the cash, nothing was missing. What makes it even stranger is that during those six years, my country completely redesigned its paper currency. The bills inside the wallet were the old version and are no longer in circulation, making it obvious they had been sitting there untouched all this time. […]
