<p>After many podium finishes, Rick Thiessen finally became a provincial champion in 2025 as a coach. He has been coaching at MEI for 32 years and is instrumental in the development of athletics for the province.</p><p></p><p>Rick was a part of BC School Sports for 7 years and serving as President for 2 of them. He also helped found the Eastern Valley Athletic Association.</p><p></p><p>Rick is now semi-retired and looking to run for city council for the City of Abbotsford. He hopes to boost economy and improve parks and recreation that are lacking in comparison to municipalities surrounding us.</p>
