04. Nawal Masri: Mental Health, privilege & locally supported economies

On today’s episode, we have Nawal Masri, the founder of exhale. Exhale is a clothing brand that features artists from the Middle East to tell stories. Their clothes aren’t the type that you slap on a t-shirt and print. Their clothes tell a story through art.

Nawal’s platform reminds us of Tawahadna, she features and supports artists from the region by marketing them on her platform. Something that artists so badly need here in the region.

Exhale has raised 1.8 million dirhams in funding since its inception 2 years ago.

Exhale doesn’t just sell clothes. Exhale is a clothing brand about mental health. Nawal’s story begins when she was only 15 years old when she experienced anxiety for the first time. What I was really curious to know was: a t such a young age, how does someone realize that what they are feeling is actually something they can seek help for?
