Il Programma degli Itinerari Culturali, avviato dal Consiglio d’Europa nel 1987, rappresenta un vero e proprio viaggio attraverso il tempo e lo spazio, dimostrando come la ricchezza e la diversità culturale dei Paesi europei contribuiscano alla valorizzazione di un patrimonio culturale comune e inestimabile. Alla fine del 2017, erano 31 gli itinerari certificati dal Consiglio d’Europa. Il primo fu il Cammino di Santiago, riconosciuto nel 1987, seguito dalla Via Francigena, che ottenne la certificazione come quarto itinerario nel 1994. Per valorizzare al meglio l’identità e l’autenticità di ciascun percorso, abbiamo scelto di trasmettere le interviste – realizzate e future – nella lingua originale dell’Itinerario.
