IVF DADDIES

About IVF DADDIES

The fertility industry will take $200,000 from you before anyone explains what you're actually doing. We fix that. IVF. Surrogacy. Egg donation. Real costs. Real timelines. What clinics don't tell you. What lawyers bury in contracts. What no one warns you about until it's too late. Richard Westoby navigated this for 14 years. Julio Gaggia decoded it so you don't have to start from zero. Start with Episode 1. Hit follow. Then make better decisions. No clinic deals. No referral fees. No false hope. The independent reference system for IVF, surrogacy and egg donation.

   104) Surrogacy Cost for Gay Men Q&A

Egg donors, IVF, surrogate fees, insurance: what are you actually paying for when you want to become a dad? Richard Westoby answers listener questions about surrogacy for gay men, from getting your sperm tested to creating embryos, comparing countries and budgeting for the unexpected. For gay couples and single men considering fatherhood, this is a practical conversation about where to start and what to ask before committing. Richard discusses US surrogacy budgets of US$230,000 - $250,000 and Mexico and Colombia pathways of around US$125,000 - $130,000. These are estimates discussed in the episode, not fixed prices or guaranteed all-inclusive quotes. Questions answered: • Can two men have a biological child together? • Do you need both an egg donor and a surrogate? • Which countries offer surrogacy pathways for gay men? • Can you create and freeze embryos now, then pursue surrogacy later? • What financial help is available, including Men Having Babies’ Gay Parenting Assistance Program? • What happens financially if an embryo transfer fails? • Which insurance and unexpected costs should you budget for? • How many embryos might you need for two children? • What can PGT-A embryo testing tell you? • What options exist if your semen analysis finds no sperm? Follow IVFDADDIES for more conversations about IVF, surrogacy and becoming a dad. Leave your question in the comments for a future Q&A. This episode shares general information and personal experience. Costs, eligibility and legal requirements depend on your circumstances and destination. Discuss medical decisions with your fertility specialist and cross-border arrangements with qualified legal advisers. 103) GRINDR’S $300K FAMILY-BUILDING BENEFIT

Grindr is offering eligible employees up to $300,000 in family-building support for fertility treatment, IVF, surrogacy and adoption. Yes. Grindr. In this first IVFDADDIES SHOUTOUT, Julio Gaggia looks at what started with a video from Grindr’s Brian Lucksinger talking about wanting to become a father, and turned into a much bigger question about gay parenting, surrogacy and community. Grindr CEO George Arison is himself a father through surrogacy. In 2026, he and U.S. Senator John Hickenlooper also co-wrote “Building Families Shouldn’t Be This Hard,” arguing that people building families through IVF, surrogacy and assisted reproduction can face major financial, legal and bureaucratic barriers. But this episode isn’t really about an employee benefit. It’s about what happens when information is everywhere, but trust isn’t. Gay intended parents can Google IVF. AI can explain embryos. A fertility clinic can explain treatment. What’s harder to find is another person who can say: “We went through this too.” IVFDADDIES asks whether the next step in LGBTQ+ family building is less about creating more information and more about creating community, connecting intended parents, gay dads and future parents through lived experience. 102) FINANCING IVF OR YOUR MONEY BACK WITH SUNFISH CEO ANGELA RASTEGAR

How much does IVF really cost, and what happens when treatment fails but the money is already gone? Before founding Sunfish, Angela Rastegar watched intended parents sell their 401(k)s and struggle to finance fertility treatment without knowing the final cost. Then she experienced it herself. Angela paid for four egg retrievals out of pocket. Two produced no healthy embryos. Eggs she had frozen years earlier eventually gave her another opportunity to continue building her family. In this episode, Angela joins Richard to explain how Sunfish is trying to make IVF, egg freezing and surrogacy more financially predictable. They discuss: • Hidden IVF and egg-freezing costs• IVF loans and monthly payment plans• Flat-fee fertility packages• Money-back protection when treatment is unsuccessful• Financing multiple IVF cycles• Financial planning for surrogacy• How Sunfish calculates personalised costs and possible outcomes• How fertility clinics and providers are vetted• Fertility data, privacy and security• The emotional cost of beginning again Angela explains how Sunfish uses historical, de-identified data alongside personal diagnostic information to estimate possible outcomes and build a financial package around each journey. The technology does not replace a fertility doctor or decide someone’s treatment. It is designed to help patients understand their options, possible costs and financial exposure before committing to treatment. This is not about making IVF cheap. It is about knowing the financial risk before using your savings, taking out a fertility loan or paying for another cycle. Fertility treatment will always carry medical uncertainty. The final bill should not be another surprise.
