“Captured Justice in Romania: A Parallel with Bulgaria” - Andrea-Anamaria Chiș
<p>Today’s episode of “Through the Labyrinths of Law” was recorded with Andrea-Anamaria Chiș — a former judge with over 28 years of experience in the Romanian judicial system and a member of the Superior Council of Magistracy of Romania from 2017 to 2023.In this episode, we discuss the current challenges to the rule of law in Romania and Bulgaria, draw parallels between the two countries, and examine institutional pressures and accountability mechanisms. We also talk about the documentary “Captured Justice,” in which Andrea-Anamaria Chiș participated, its impact on society, and the possible solutions for safeguarding judicial independence.</p>
