Four Boys, a Dog, and a 17,000-Year-Old Secret
Welcome to the very first episode of Codex & Collage!
It’s 1940 in the French countryside. Four teenagers and their dog, Robot, stumble upon a mysterious hole in the ground.
We will dive into the incredible true story of the Lascaux Caves.
IN THIS EPISODE, YOU WILL FIND:
The story of the cave's accidental discovery.
The possible meanings behind the stunning paintings.
How ancient artists created masterpieces with just three colors and natural tools.
A new way to think about creative limitations and the human need to "leave a mark."
This week's creative prompt is a special one, designed to connect you with our earliest artistic ancestors. Listen to the end of the episode to hear the full prompt and challenge yourself to create something beautiful using the same kinds of limitations the Lascaux artists faced.
I would love to see what you make. After you listen and create your piece, please share on Instagram and tag @alljack_up and use the hashtag #CodexNCollage so our whole community can see your work.
If you loved this episode and it sparked some creativity for you, the single best way you can support the show is to share it with one creative friend who you think would enjoy it. It helps us grow more than anything else.
