About Jade Conversations ™ — A Podcast by Jade Wellspring ™
Welcome to Jade Conversations™—where we make sense of your changing body through Traditional Chinese Medicine, modern science, integrative wellness, and real-life conversation. Hosted by Jean, an acupuncturist, educator, and lifelong student of TCM, we explore hormones, sleep, stress, metabolism, brain health, resilience, and the wonderfully complicated realities of midlife. Your body isn’t failing you—it’s communicating with you. Let’s learn how to listen.
Your Symptoms Aren't Random: How Chinese Medicine Connects the Dots
Hot flashes, restless nights, brain fog, digestive issues, mood changes, and mysterious aches and pains. Sound familiar?
What if some of these seemingly unrelated symptoms are actually pieces of a bigger puzzle?
In this episode of Jade Conversations™, Jean takes you behind the scenes of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to explore one of its most fascinating concepts: pattern recognition.
Using a little humor and some creative analogies (including puzzles, recipes, and a very temperamental thermostat!), we'll explore how Chinese medicine approaches the body as an interconnected system rather than a collection of isolated symptoms.
In this episode, you'll discover:
Why your acupuncturist asks questions that seem completely unrelated to your symptoms.
What Qi, Yin, Yang, and Blood actually mean in Chinese medicine.
Why two women experiencing the same symptoms might have very different TCM patterns.
How Chinese medicine's whole-person perspective can complement our understanding of midlife health.
A simple Jade Practice™ to help you start connecting the dots in your own body.
✨ Your Jade Mantra:
“My body is not a collection of problems. It is a story I can learn to understand.”
Because sometimes the first step toward feeling better isn't doing more. It's understanding more.
💚 If this episode resonates with you, share it with another woman who might benefit from seeing her health through a different lens.

Why Am I So Hot?!
There is a particularly humbling moment in a woman’s life when everyone else in the room seems perfectly comfortable…and you’re quietly wondering whether spontaneous human combustion is actually a thing.
One minute you’re fine. The next, you’re peeling off layers and considering whether climbing into the freezer technically counts as self-care.
Welcome to hot flashes.
In this episode of Jade Conversations™, Jean explores what’s really happening when your internal thermostat suddenly goes rogue—and why hot flashes during perimenopause and menopause are about much more than simply “being too hot.”
We’ll talk about:
• Why changing estrogen levels can affect your brain’s temperature regulation
• How stress, sleep, nourishment, and your nervous system may influence hot flashes
• How Traditional Chinese Medicine understands hot flashes, including the role of Yin, Yang, and individual patterns
• The clues your own hot flashes may be giving you
• Four simple, real-life strategies you can start experimenting with right away
• A one-week Jade Practice designed to help you notice your patterns without turning menopause into another full-time job
Because you don’t need seventeen new things on your wellness to-do list.
You need information you can actually use.
And maybe a fan.
In this week’s Jade Practice, you’ll choose just two small things to experiment with and begin asking a different question—not “What’s wrong with me?” but:
“What does my body need from me now?”
Listen, laugh, learn something about your body, and take one small step toward supporting it differently.
And if there’s a woman in your life who might need this conversation, share it with her. Sometimes helping another woman starts simply by saying, “I thought of you when I heard this.”

Is it my Hormones...or is it me?
Have you ever wondered, Is this my hormones…or am I just losing it?
One day you're handling life just fine. The next, you can't find your keys, your brain has 47 tabs open, everyone is making entirely too much noise, and one innocent “What's for dinner?” feels like a personal attack.
In this episode of Jade Conversations™, Jean explores why the hormonal shifts of perimenopause can affect far more than your menstrual cycle—including sleep, mood, brain function, stress resilience, metabolism, and the nervous system.
We'll also look at midlife through the lens of Traditional Chinese Medicine, including Kidney Essence (Jing), Yin and Yang, and why two women in the same stage of life can experience completely different symptoms.
Most importantly, we'll explore a different question:
What if your body isn't betraying you? What if it's communicating with you?
Plus, you'll leave with a simple Jade Practice to help you start listening to your body with curiosity instead of fighting against it.
Traditional wisdom. Modern women. And conversations we should have been having all along.

A Jade Pause: Choosing Curiosity Over Perfection When Plans Change
Jean introduces a special “Jade Pause” episode after technology derails her planned second “Jade Conversations” installment, sharing how the experience highlights what happens when life disrupts our timelines and triggers self-judgment and perfectionism. As an acupuncturist and educator in traditional Chinese medicine who isn’t technologically gifted, she reframes the setback as an invitation to choose curiosity over perfection and to measure success by continuing to show up. She offers a short guided pause with breathing, body awareness, and a reminder that it’s okay to be learning and to change the plan, followed by a reflective question about what feels supportive right now. Jean shares the mantra, “I do not need to have it all figured out. I can pause, I can learn, and I can begin again,” and notes episode two is still coming as she prioritizes consistency and connection while learning.00:00 Jade Conversations-A Special Jade Pause00:26 Intro & Tech Mishap05:19 Guided Pause10:05 Reflection & Outro
