<p>Kris var en av spesialsoldatene som lagde overskrifter i norske medier når kampene raste i Afghanistan. Han forteller åpent om både gode og vanskelige øyeblikk, om det å komme hjem til hverdagen, hvordan det er å bli skutt på, og å måtte drepe for å forsvare seg selv og vennene sine. Underveis kommer det blant annet frem at en venn av Kris, marinejegeren Kenneth, tok sitt eget liv for bare en måned siden.</p>
