One thing has always been consistent, however: His love of telling stories, something he has been doing since he was a young boy in Pittsburgh.<br><br>He developed that love into a career as an acclaimed short story writer, having been shortlisted for the Nebula Award from the Science Fiction Writers of America and the Sturgeon Memorial Award from the Gunn Center for the Study of Science Fiction at the University of Kansas. His work has appeared across the globe and in the seminal Year's Best Science Fiction anthology.<br><br>Moving on to novels, Kerr has written two fantasy adventure series, and several science fiction novels.
