ISO 19650 Is Being Rewritten, and Nearly Everyone Has the Timing Wrong
If you have read anything about the ISO 19650 revision in the last few months, it probably told you the new versions publish in late 2026. Several vendor blogs say it. A number of training providers say it. It is repeated widely enough to have become the industry's working assumption.
The ISO record says something different, and the difference matters if you are budgeting to rewrite a set of templates.

The RICS AI Standard Has Been Mandatory Since March. Most Firms Haven't Noticed
Two numbers, from two different surveys published this year, that ought to be read together.
Seventy-four per cent of UK architecture practices now use AI on most projects, up from fifty-nine per cent a year earlier. Fewer than fifteen per cent have a formal AI policy.
And: forty-three per cent of construction professionals surveyed by RICS are not aligned to the RICS AI standard — mostly, on RICS’s own reading, because they have never heard of it.
The standard is not guidance. It has been mandatory since 9 March 2026, it applies globally to members and regulated firms, and RICS professional standards inform regulatory proceedings and are treated as a benchmark in negligence disputes. Which makes the gap between those numbers a professional risk rather than an administrative oversight.
