Lord God My Rock, My Deliverer
A prayer of faith, strength, and deliverance: when the waves rise and fear surrounds us, we can call upon the LORD. He is our rock, our refuge, and our salvationâand He hears our cry.

In Returning and Rest: Trusting the LORD Instead of Human Strength
Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note. (https://rss.com/podcasts/from-hebrew-and-aramaic-to-greek-and-english-how-we-received-the-words-of-matthew-1/voicemail)
Isaiah 30 reminds us that human strength cannot replace the power of God. Judah trusted in Egypt, pursued earthly protection, and rejected the LORDâs counselâbut God called His people back to repentance, rest, quietness, and confidence.
When we return to the LORD and wait upon Him, He gives us direction, healing, protection, and strength.
âIn returning and rest shall ye be saued; in quietnesse and in confidence shall be your strength.â â Isaiah 30:15, 1611 KJV
Do not run to fear. Do not depend on human power. Return to the LORD, trust His Word, and walk in the way He has shown you.
The LORD is our refuge, our guide, and our salvation.

The Biblical Meaning of Pouring Oil
Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note. (https://rss.com/podcasts/from-hebrew-and-aramaic-to-greek-and-english-how-we-received-the-words-of-matthew-1/voicemail)
Throughout the KJV Holy Bible, oil represents Godâs anointing, consecration, healing, refreshment, joy, and preparation for service. Kings and priests were anointed, the sick were prayed over and anointed with oil, and oil was used as a picture of Godâs blessing and the presence of the Holy Ghost.
âThou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.â â Psalm 23:5
May we seek the Lordânot merely the symbolâand allow Him to dedicate our lives, strengthen our faith, heal our hearts, and prepare us for His purpose.

The Biblical Meaning of Water
Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note. (https://rss.com/podcasts/from-hebrew-and-aramaic-to-greek-and-english-how-we-received-the-words-of-matthew-1/voicemail)
Water throughout the KJV Holy Bible represents life, cleansing, renewal, baptism, the Holy Spirit, and Godâs everlasting provision. Just as our bodies need water to live, our souls need Jesus Christ, the Living Water. When we are spiritually thirsty, He refreshes, restores, and gives us eternal life.
âBut whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst.â â John 4:14
May we continually seek the Lord, allow His Word to cleanse us, and let His living water flow through our lives.

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note. (https://rss.com/podcasts/from-hebrew-and-aramaic-to-greek-and-english-how-we-received-the-words-of-matthew-1/voicemail)
Before Matthew 1 appeared in the English Bible, its message traveled through a world shaped by Hebrew promises, Aramaic conversation, Greek writing, and English translation. Behind every name in Matthewâs genealogy stands a story of covenant, prophecy, kingship, failure, restoration, and divine faithfulness.
Matthew begins with Abraham. He points to David. He leads us through generations of promise until we arrive at one name above every name: Jesus Christ.

A genealogy. A promise. A royal line. A Savior. Matthew 1 reveals that Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of Godâs plan.

Different languages may express His name in different forms, but the message remains unchanged:
âDifferent forms of the name do not reveal different Saviors. They reveal the journey of language.â
Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation.

The promise given in Israelâs Scriptures was proclaimed through a Greek New Testament and later translated into English, among many other languages.

Part Three: What Is the Difference Between Hebrew and Aramaic?
Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note. (https://rss.com/podcasts/from-hebrew-and-aramaic-to-greek-and-english-how-we-received-the-words-of-matthew-1/voicemail)
Language and transmission matter when discussing Scripture. The Old Testament was primarily written in Biblical Hebrew, Jesus likely spoke Aramaic in everyday settings, and the canonical New Testament has been preserved in Koine Greek. Therefore, claims about the Bibleâs âoriginal languageâ should specify which part of Scripture, which historical setting, and which manuscript tradition is being discussed.

Part Two âThe 1611 KJV Was an English Translationâ
Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note. (https://rss.com/podcasts/from-hebrew-and-aramaic-to-greek-and-english-how-we-received-the-words-of-matthew-1/voicemail)
The 1611 KJV printed âIesus.â
This is not evidence of a different Savior. It is the English historical spelling used at that time.
The message remains:
Jesus Christ is the Son of David, the Son of Abraham, and the Savior of the world.

âFrom Hebrew and Aramaic to Greek and English: How We Received the Words of Matthew 1â
Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note. (https://rss.com/podcasts/from-hebrew-and-aramaic-to-greek-and-english-how-we-received-the-words-of-matthew-1/voicemail)
The statement âThe 1611 KJV itself was not written directly in Greekâmeans that the KJV is an English translation, not the original Greek wording of Matthew. Matthew chapter 1 is preserved in Koine Greek, although it contains Hebrew names, Jewish history, and material rooted in the Hebrew Scriptures.
Hebrew and Aramaic are related Semitic languages. Hebrew was especially associated with Israelâs Scriptures and Jewish religious tradition, while Aramaic was widely used as a spoken language in the time of Jesus. Both influenced the background of Matthew, but the canonical Greek text of Matthew is not the same thing as a Hebrew or Aramaic edition.
