Hidden Insights From The Feast of FirstFruits
Today: Hidden Insights From The Feast of FirstFruits. Clearly, Jesus was the firstfruits from the dead. He is our bread of life. He brings us thru the waters of baptism into the new kingdom. Let’s not skip over that. but also, there is more than the flatfooted assertion that First Fruits was in Passover. It is. It is not in Pentecost as we were taught. However, there is a connection. FirstFruits begins the counting of the omer. Today this is merely counting of 49 days until Pentecost, where another first fruits sare waved. That is the wheat harvest, baked with leaven, while FirstFruits waves barley sheaves. Originally, the omer was a volume measurement of grain, offered each day in the Temple. Again, we see the harvcest which we are, hidden in the feast ritual, just as Jesus Messiah was hidden in so many ways. Mentioned: https://bibleview.org/en/bible/moses/feastsandfast-firstfruits/ (https://bibleview.org/en/bible/moses/feastsandfast-firstfruits/) The glory of God to hide a matter and the glory of kings to seek it out. Hope this has been fun for you. Must hear from you if I am to keep this podcast up, as I have competing duties. I do so love it — and you. Let me hear from you. Let’s have a healthy relationship and good community. Comment: Yes! I found the verse that made me question my earlier, correct, discovery. Yes, The Feast of FirstFruits is after the Sabbath in or just after the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which of course is immediately right after and connected to Passover. This is contrary to what we were taught in the Move, but well known elsewhere. (Yes, more recently, there have been some preachers who preach this correctly, but I was sitting under Sam Fife.) So: here is the verse that I ran across in my recent readings: Numbers 28:26 (NIV) “On the day of firstfruits, when you present to the LORD an offering of new grain during the Feast of Weeks, hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work.” Here is the explanation. In Numbers, mentioned is Passover, Weeks, Trumpets, Atonement, Tabernacles. The Feast of Weeks or Pentecost does include waving first fruits of the wheat harvest, in leavened cakes. That is 5. The First of FirstFruits includes waving sheafs of barley. Lev 23 includes The Passover & Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits, Feast of Weeks, Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonment, Feast of Tabernacles. That is 7. (Of course, we also think of Spring Feasts, Feast of Weeks, and Fall Festivals, being 3. Of course Move trained people recognize the 3 and 7 from the Tabernacle. When we hear 5, we think of the 5 fold.) The point for me at this time is that Firstfruits is the hidden resurrection. And the counting of the omer until the next waving of the firstfruits of grain, and this time with leaven — that is the hidden sonship of the church. Apologies for not getting that spelled out into the audio. Maybe God planned that so you will know to come to the website. Passover from Slavery to Freedom to Liberty
Possibly the last in my series on feasts. Finally! One on Passover. And not boring. Yes, Jesus is the lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. But check this out. This is how God sums up the Passover story: Exodus 20:2 “I took you out of the house of slavery.” (Then goes into the 10 Commandments.) So, what does that mean in terms of us living out the meaning of the feasts? Are we out of the house of slavery? Hmm? How many Christians do you hear saying that we must sin every day? How much are we living out freedom? But there is more. There is liberty. That is why the Israelites, just coming off Passover and the Red Sea, next hear about The Law. Why? Because God was taking them into the land — to be a blessed nation. Okay, so we know about passing over from judgement to grace. We know about the Feast of Unleavened Bread, where we purge out sin, pride… (and oh, wrath and malice which also grows)… and live in rest. Do we know about rest? Tell me if you know. What about passing over into the land? Into Freedom? Into Liberty? But then, what about going into the land? Does that mean finances only? Really? What about “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” What does that mean? Where have we seeen that? Any lands, guided by the gospel of freedom with law? Oh yes! Be sure to listen, hear, and share this episode. also: you might like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnopIIdqnzY (https://www.addtoany.com/add_to/facebook?linkurl=https%3A%2F%2Fjesusnameaustin.org%2F2026%2F03%2F31%2Fpassover-from-slavery-to-freedom-to-liberty%2F&linkname=Passover%20from%20Slavery%20to%20Freedom%20to%20Liberty) (https://www.addtoany.com/add_to/twitter?linkurl=https%3A%2F%2Fjesusnameaustin.org%2F2026%2F03%2F31%2Fpassover-from-slavery-to-freedom-to-liberty%2F&linkname=Passover%20from%20Slavery%20to%20Freedom%20to%20Liberty) (https://www.addtoany.com/add_to/email?linkurl=https%3A%2F%2Fjesusnameaustin.org%2F2026%2F03%2F31%2Fpassover-from-slavery-to-freedom-to-liberty%2F&linkname=Passover%20from%20Slavery%20to%20Freedom%20to%20Liberty) (https://www.addtoany.com/add_to/mewe?linkurl=https%3A%2F%2Fjesusnameaustin.org%2F2026%2F03%2F31%2Fpassover-from-slavery-to-freedom-to-liberty%2F&linkname=Passover%20from%20Slavery%20to%20Freedom%20to%20Liberty) (https://www.addtoany.com/add_to/pocket?linkurl=https%3A%2F%2Fjesusnameaustin.org%2F2026%2F03%2F31%2Fpassover-from-slavery-to-freedom-to-liberty%2F&linkname=Passover%20from%20Slavery%20to%20Freedom%20to%20Liberty) (https://www.addtoany.com/add_to/pinterest?linkurl=https%3A%2F%2Fjesusnameaustin.org%2F2026%2F03%2F31%2Fpassover-from-slavery-to-freedom-to-liberty%2F&linkname=Passover%20from%20Slavery%20to%20Freedom%20to%20Liberty) (https://www.addtoany.com/add_to/tumblr?linkurl=https%3A%2F%2Fjesusnameaustin.org%2F2026%2F03%2F31%2Fpassover-from-slavery-to-freedom-to-liberty%2F&linkname=Passover%20from%20Slavery%20to%20Freedom%20to%20Liberty) (https://www.addtoany.com/add_to/blogger?linkurl=https%3A%2F%2Fjesusnameaustin.org%2F2026%2F03%2F31%2Fpassover-from-slavery-to-freedom-to-liberty%2F&linkname=Passover%20from%20Slavery%20to%20Freedom%20to%20Liberty) (https://www.addtoany.com/add_to/digg?linkurl=https%3A%2F%2Fjesusnameaustin.org%2F2026%2F03%2F31%2Fpassover-from-slavery-to-freedom-to-liberty%2F&linkname=Passover%20from%20Slavery%20to%20Freedom%20to%20Liberty) (https://www.addtoany.com/add_to/whatsapp?linkurl=https%3A%2F%2Fjesusnameaustin.org%2F2026%2F03%2F31%2Fpassover-from-slavery-to-freedom-to-liberty%2F&linkname=Passover%20from%20Slavery%20to%20Freedom%20to%20Liberty) (https://www.addtoany.com/add_to/symbaloo_bookmarks?linkurl=https%3A%2F%2Fjesusnameaustin.org%2F2026%2F03%2F31%2Fpassover-from-slavery-to-freedom-to-liberty%2F&linkname=Passover%20from%20Slavery%20to%20Freedom%20to%20Liberty) (https://www.addtoany.com/add_to/aol_mail?linkurl=https%3A%2F%2Fjesusnameaustin.org%2F2026%2F03%2F31%2Fpassover-from-slavery-to-freedom-to-liberty%2F&linkname=Passover%20from%20Slavery%20to%20Freedom%20to%20Liberty) (https://www.addtoany.com/add_to/printfriendly?linkurl=https%3A%2F%2Fjesusnameaustin.org%2F2026%2F03%2F31%2Fpassover-from-slavery-to-freedom-to-liberty%2F&linkname=Passover%20from%20Slavery%20to%20Freedom%20to%20Liberty) (https://www.addtoany.com/share#url=https%3A%2F%2Fjesusnameaustin.org%2F2026%2F03%2F31%2Fpassover-from-slavery-to-freedom-to-liberty%2F&title=Passover%20from%20Slavery%20to%20Freedom%20to%20Liberty) The post Passover from Slavery to Freedom to Liberty (https://jesusnameaustin.org/2026/03/31/passover-from-slavery-to-freedom-to-liberty/) appeared first on Jesus Pattern Son (https://jesusnameaustin.org).

Oh! Pray in “Tongues” — Why and How
Oh! How could a prayer series not include praying in “tongues”? Well, seldom in a series on kinds of prayer is tongues considered. But it should be. It is the perfect prayer! So, I have made an unbiased, balanced, Biblical introduction. Some stories are ridiculous. Others might be some criticism of the classical pentecostal view. However, the view comes the closest to the entire record. The solution to what seems to be the problem of “no, you can’t get saved without the Holy Spirit” is yes — Holy Spirit must be convicting and leading you for you to get saved. Yes, the Holy Spirit must be in you for you to live the Christian life. However, Holy Spirit must be on you for power for service –and great if it is overflowing! And guess what, it seems that the Greek New Testament has different prepositions just like that: with, in, and on. And why would you like to make a story to let you off the gift of Holy Spirit and spiritual gifts of Holy Spirit manifestation? That makes NO sense. And, also good news, it is easy. Because it is a gift. Please share, like, and tell people about this episode. Freely given, so please appreciate it. How to Pray for Healing
Just as this whole series on kinds of prayer started from a conversation with one friend, this episode started because of another conversation with another friend. I realized that there must be a whole lot of people who might like an episode starting in on the topic of how to pray for healing. Maybe you are not just really into prayer or the Bible. Or maybe you are. Either way, lots of people want to pray for healing. I am one, too. So, this is sort of basic, from the beginning. Looking back, probably a good review for those of us who have been in this thing a long time. Hope you find it useful. I do mention, along the way, the Mario Murillo, (healing evangelist that has been around quite a while and who I have worked for as a volunteer so I know him to be real) will be in Conroe Texas starting Sunday evening.Nov. 2, 2025 for probably 4 nights. Sometimes morning meetings too. Check out: www.MarioMurillo.org Julie Green is having a set of meetings in the DFW area right now. She is newer to me, but I did see her praying for healings via online last night. Looked good to me. What does the Bible say about the “decree & declare” method of praying? Well, let’s go into that. I know this is the most popular form of prayer now. There is Biblical basis for it. However, the amount of volume or oratory eloquence is not the measure of power. Only Holy Spirit, which may issue in boldness. Let’ just be sure our decrees are based on the Word of God, either written or spoken directly to our heart. Yes, that will give us boldness. Go forth, rooted in The Vine, the Word, our dear Lord. And Johnny & Elizabeth Enlow’s Thanksgiving Message: Still chewing on this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNggUH9LF9w (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNggUH9LF9w) about 1 hour in, Johnny particularly mentions Decree & Declare, but you will want to hear it all. Deliverance Prayer – Insights You Have Not Heard Before
Today, coming close to finishing up our series on different kinds of prayer, we consider Deliverance prayer. Yes, we cover the basics, but then we make considerations that I have never heard before. Normally, Deliverance is associated withe the study of demons. How about let’s considering our authority in and representation of Jesus? Less doubt, more confidence, more deliverance. We are delivered from the kingdom of darkness and transferred to the Kingdom of Light, the Kingdom of His Dear Son. Amen. Traditional preaching on being free from demons: R.W. Shambach Schambach’s mentor was A.A. Allen Andrew Wommack tells of his experiences with casting out demons, and speaks of how they used the Pigs in the Parlor book back in the 1970s as immaturity. Yet, he does still believe in casting out demons, etc. Kevin Zadai mentions witches, and has had some saved in his services. Mahesh Chavda, who grew up in Africa and accompanied Derek Prince on revival tours through Africa, tells many amazing stories about Jesus’ triumph against witchdoctors and demons. Here is one instance: I do whole heartedly recommend Mahesh and Bonnie Chavda. https://destinyimage.substack.com/p/800-sorcerers-delivered-from-witchcraft (https://destinyimage.substack.com/p/800-sorcerers-delivered-from-witchcraft) https://www.chavdaministries.org/ (https://www.chavdaministries.org/) Pastors Mahesh and Bonnie Chavda live in the United States, have a church here and also travel/speak. I wholeheartedly recommend their ministry. I entirely believe his stories and I have seen witches come out to his meetings. Worship as a Kind of Prayer, Method to Bring Glory, and Manifestation of Sonship
Some people think of worship as just any kind of worship service. Others think of worship as the song service. It is so much more. It is the secret path toward answered prayer — and most anything else! Worship as a Kind of Prayer, Method to Bring Glory, and Manifestation of Sonship. This you did not know! I sure haven’t realized it until just now. Sister Ruth Ward Heflin, and since then, also Julie Green, wonderful worship leader, has talked about worship as a method to bring the glory. You know I like definite techniques. So much blah blah blah, but not much getting done. A lot of “how to” tapes I have purchased from ministers were really only “you can” which is nice, but I knew that. I wanted secrets on how to. Here is a big secret. And we sort of knew it, didn’t we? Let’s worship. I was glad when they said to me, “Let’s go up to the House of the Lord”; Let’s worship! Praying In Authority
Now the post that everyone has been waiting for: the one for how to pray with more authority. Once the church focused on petition, but not with much faith or teaching. Now, the same with authority. Well, fine, we are like little children, learning to walk. Ok. To pray in authority, it is helpful to know the Scriptures that give us authority. So, we cover that here. Also, it is helpful to have the rest of spiritual life in order, and we do not cover that extensively. Hear from the Spirit and walk in the Spirit. But not necessary to feel all spiritual. Don’t be in unconfessed sin and be sure you are not in unforgiveness — which might feel more like resentment. Forgiveness is NOT saying someone was right, but it is giving the judgement and the dealing with it to God. It is also helpful to know and “work” the other kinds of prayer. We should take a soldierly view: train in all the kinds of prayer. TRAIN like a soldier. Be able to do it without looking. So, when fired upon, no thinking is necessary, but instead, the training takes over. It helps to have a cadre. Soldiers know this. Even SpecOps works in groups. O! Lord! Show me some people who are serious Christians. Thank you SO MUCH for knowing a few. I know they are busy. So am I! Make me a good soldier in THE WAY also! Give us times of refreshing. Help us to learn — and pray — seriously! Listening Prayer
Listening Prayer may be the least talked about in circles that I frequent, however, it is an ancient tradition, what I first learned, and very helpful — indeed vital. Sometimes we just need to quiet ourselves and LISTEN. How else are we going to hear God? Many people ask about this. So, I give some practical answers. Quiet yourself and listen to God! And a few examples are given for encouragement. The Prayer of Consecration and Surrender
Working through kinds of prayer, today we consider the prayer of consecration. Some people like Samuel and Isaiah and Paul were consecrated to the Lord. We might even meet some people who inspire us with their consecration to the Lord. Certainly, Jesus’ prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane will be a greatest example of consecration: “Not my will but Thine be done.” Let us live this live this adventure of giving our lives to God. Here are the wonderful words of Kathryn Kuhlman, evidently read by someone else. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7YwFRq39-g (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7YwFRq39-g) Miss Kuhlman is a great model for surrender! Romans 8 – Saved AND Empowered — by Mindset?
Mindset is something we normally hear from our secular or “New Age” friends. Hear the Words of Romans 8, again, with new ears. That we have this new translation, the Passion Translation, from Aramaic, helps a great deal. Maybe you, like me, once found your King James memorized. Great, but new insights from new translations. Also, a word about several ongoing controversies. Then, on to HOW to be a Son of God. We are more than justified. We have Jesus the Messiah/Savior living in us. This empowers us. So,we need to align or subsume our mindset into this direction. We are saved AND empowered. Let’s not leave half un-recieved. 3 Prayer: Thanksgiving and Praise
In my eight part series on kinds of prayer, today we come to Thanksgiving and Praise. They are hard to separate, because when we think of how great and good God is, we are thankful. Using this kind of prayer is a great discipline and helps us. It also allows us to enter in, as Psalm 100 says. At the end of the track, I mention someone else’s sermon that jogged my thinking to remember how praise was a weapon. That episode should be 4 and one half, while this one should be episode 4. At any rate, I hope you enjoy this. I certainly enjoy making these for you. Please let me hear from you?
