<p style="color:#333333;font-weight:normal;font-size:16px;line-height:30px;font-family:Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;hyphens:auto;text-align:justify;" data-flag="normal">目前通行的模仿概念错在因果颠倒，把后果当成了起因。所谓的模仿，其实有很大一部分只是构造相似的人对相似的刺激，采取相同的反应方式。人受了羞辱会生气，而且会攻击羞辱他的人，这不是模仿他人的反应。真正的社会控制指的是心智意象之形成，也就是知道怎样去理解对象、事情、行为，从而能够实际参与共同活动。唯有与抵抗而产生的摩擦会导致人们认为，社会控制就是强迫人遵守违反本性的行为路线。唯有忽略了人们彼此都关切的情境（或有心要行动以相互呼应的情境），才会把模仿视为促成社会控制的主要媒介。<br></p>

<p style="color:#333333;font-weight:normal;font-size:16px;line-height:30px;font-family:Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;hyphens:auto;text-align:justify;" data-flag="normal">控制的根本方法不是关乎个人的，而是心智上的。直接以个人感染力造成影响虽然是关键时刻可用的重要方法，控制却不因此算是诉诸“精神”的。方法存在于理解人和事物的习惯，这习惯则是在与他人配合使用对象之中养成的，可能是与他人合作互助，也可能是敌对竞争。心智的具体发挥是按用途来理解事物，社会化的智能理解事物，则是从用途转入共同参与或分担的行为着眼。心智乃是社会的控制方法。<br></p>
