Program #183: 5/17/89 Part IV
Continuing with the session from May 17, 1989 at Ephraim’s. The musicians in this program are Jimmy Mazzy on banjo and vocals, Fred Lind on cornet, Dr. Paul Meymaris on clarinet, myself John Kafalas on tuba, Bill Whitcraft on piano, and Stu Grover on drums, as well as guest Bill Payne on banjo and vocals. The selections are “Thinking of You,” which someone in the audience says was Kay Kaiser’s theme song, followed by “My Poor Nellie Gray, They’re Taking You Away,” and “We Three.” I think some or all of these tunes may have been used in an early program in this podcast, but the sound quality should be much better in this program, because I have a much better digital audio converter than I had back in 2006. Send questions or comments to podcast@kafalas.com.
