About JK LOL Storytime
Some podcasts are produced. This one is just us. Jon and Keisha sit down every week in their basement and talk about their lives — the funny parts, the hard parts, and the parts that are both at the same time. They come from hospitality, from dental offices, from bars that smelled like old wood and good whiskey, and from the kind of hard seasons that either break you or make you exactly who you needed to become. This summer they're taking their wedding on the road. Nine ceremonies. Nine cities. Two countries. One father on a Harley. JK LOL Storytime is where it all starts. Pull up a seat. You're already a Regular.

Married by Batman?
She didn't cry in Idaho. She didn't cry in Phoenix. She cried in the back of Elvis's pink Cadillac in the Tunnel of Love at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, with a man named Bruce Wayne reading their vows. That was the one. In this episode Jon and Keisha cover Lucy and Ethel's boarding interview that lasted approximately four minutes. The Sushi Fever experience so good that Randy refuses to eat sushi anywhere else now — a month later, still protecting it. Keisha driving into the wrong parking garage with Jon crammed in the third row while No Doubt was playing the Sphere. Getting a last-minute limo because there was no other way to make it to the chapel on time. The singalong in the limo. The wedding cake that was Krispy Kreme donuts. And Donkey — skinning her knee running from an Uber at 3:30am somewhere near the Excalibur while Jon put five miles on his feet in a suit on the Las Vegas Strip. But mostly this is about the moment that snuck up on them. Not the one they planned. Not the one they expected. The one that happened in a tunnel with cherubs painted on the ceiling and a Batman who absolutely nailed it. Episode 19 highlights: waterfalls, creeks, people who don't know where they're driving, and potentially a fight in an ice cream shop parking lot. We need some sleep!
Jon and Keisha are exhausted. Genuinely, deeply, happily exhausted. 8,500 miles. Nine weddings. Countless gas stops, snack breaks, and near meltdowns. We'd change a few things, but we wouldn't change doing it another way. So much to unpack and share you with. Thank you for being with us on the journey, Regular. Episode 17 - Captain MJ and the Phoenix Wedding
She walked into Starbucks in her wedding dress on a Tuesday morning at 11am in 106 degree heat in Surprise, Arizona, with a full crew behind her, two dogs, a man in a suit, and a Harley guy who had just ridden through the desert. Two retired gentlemen on the patio looked up and said, "Did you guys just get married?" She said, "We sure did." They said, "There's no better place." In this episode Jon and Keisha cover Captain MJ — Jon's new nickname, bestowed by a grandmother at 3am, and what it stands for. Randy's first blooming onion. The hot air balloon wedding that got scrapped the week before because you don't have your wedding in the sky if your best friend doesn't do heights that way. Wickenfrickinburg and its inexplicable roundabouts. The music bingo blackout win at a barbecue joint at 9pm with two little girls who "forgot" to eat dinner. And a peach cobbler bundtlet for breakfast the next morning with Krispy Kremes, because the hot sign was on and you have to. But mostly this is about the Phoenix wedding being exactly what they always meant to do — show up in someone's life, make your promises in front of the people who matter, and then just see what happens with the day. No venue. No reservations. No plan beyond the people. By the time you hear this they will be somewhere between Kentucky and Pennsylvania. Episode 16 - She Wore the Vomit Dress Down the Aisle
he wore the vomit dress down the aisle. Not because there was no other option. Because Harper wanted to be in the wedding, and Keisha looked at her stepdaughter covered in regurgitated pizza on the side of a country road in Idaho thirty minutes behind schedule with the officiant missing and Aunt Buff following them the wrong direction — and said okay. Put her mom shoes on. We're doing this. In this episode Jon and Keisha cover Randy getting rescued by a Madison County sheriff's deputy with no phone, no address, and no idea what state he was really in. The Big Jud's burger challenge that Lucas won and immediately regretted. The seventh grade crush Keisha definitely wrote "I think you're cute" to in a yearbook. Taco Time converting a car full of skeptical tweens in under three minutes. And the foot massage competition in Minga's bedroom at the end of a wedding day that went completely sideways from minute one. But mostly this is about what happens when the best-laid plans hit a kid with heat exhaustion, a lost officiant, a wrong turn at Aunt Buff speed, and a car that will never fully stop smelling like pizza — and you do it anyway. Because the river was still there. The quaking aspens were still there. And Alabama's Down Home started playing and it was exactly what it was supposed to be. They are two weeks in. They are not stopping. JK LOL Storytime is one take, no breaks, no script — just two people telling the truth about their lives. New episodes every Thursday. From I-Do to I-15: Weddings, Highways & Meltdowns
Jon and Keisha record Episode 15 from the mountains near Ogden in Eden, Utah, a day late because they’ve been on the road for their #WeddingOnTour, heading into wedding number four after Idaho, Phoenix, and Las Vegas. They recap traveling with four kids, two puppies, a trailer, and Randy on his motorcycle through heat and storms, including a moment where Randy desperately chugs water on Highway 93 and Jon runs on almost no sleep after a North Dakota turnaround. They explain why the Phoenix wedding felt easiest—no timeline pressure, a park ceremony, puppies in dresses, Starbucks after, and flexibility when family was sick—contrasting it with stressier events. They share ongoing setbacks like lodging hassles and an old one-star Airbnb review from a past unsafe Vegas stay, praise their Phoenix hosts, and emphasize responding to obstacles with perspective. They also talk Vegas chaos, being married by a minister named Bruce Wayne at Little White Chapel, limos, strip adventures, Harley-shop help, upcoming Kentucky and Wisconsin plans, and ideas for future on-location episodes.

Episode 14 - It was HER idea
Jon spent months planning a proposal that Keisha would never see coming. She doesn't like surprises. If she had even an inkling she would have figured it out. So he told her his fried rice elbow was flaring up and he couldn't swing a golf club. Then he suggested a walk instead. He had pink flagging tape in the trees two weeks in advance. A trellis pounded into the ground. Polaroids of every significant moment in their relationship pinned across it. Rose petals. A dozen roses. A speech he still has. A photographer named Ashley hiding up the hill probably getting ticks and grasshoppers. Keisha's best friend Kaylee in the bushes with a video camera. Keisha thought going to her favorite trail in North Dakota was her own idea. It was not her own idea. In this episode Jon and Keisha tell the engagement story. The ring that sat in a wood box under Keisha's bed for a week while she slept over it with no idea. The barbecue dinner with Keisha's mom as cover. The AirPod case ring box. The hand squeezing that got more intense the closer they got. The rose petals that briefly looked like a roadside memorial. The Up house Lego set built by all four kids and Keisha's mom the weekend before. The wine they had been saving that turned out to be terrible. The champagne. Also Cooper arrived. Betty is retired. The dogs are coming to Idaho. Ethel needs puppy meds. Lucy ate a whole canister of puppy weed once and was in an altered state for a couple days. By the time you hear this episode they will be on tour. JK LOL Storytime is one take, no breaks, no script — just two people telling the truth about their lives. New episodes every Thursday. Episode 13 - Holy Sh*t, It's June 1st. We're Actually Doing This.
It's June 1st. We're leaving today. We probably should have scripted this one. We did not script this one, just like all episodes. What you're hearing is two people standing in their basement on a Monday morning with totes full of wedding dresses, four veils, boutonnieres, bouquets, and holy guacamole, about to drive 7,588 miles across two countries to get married nine times. Either we are completely batshit crazy or we are onto something amazing. We genuinely do not know which one yet. There is no middle ground and that feels very on brand. A few things before we go. We have a Patreon now. The highest tier gets a postcard mailed directly from one of the tour stops — signed, from wherever we are. Randy's bike just pulled up outside. Episode 14 drops Thursday June 4th and it's the engagement story. Episode 15 is going to be recorded in the car or a hotel room so we apologize in advance for the audio. The dead cat on the wireless mic is named Carl. Nine cities. Nine weddings. Two countries. One father on a Harley. Babe. Let's go. JK LOL Storytime is one take, no breaks, no script — just two people telling the truth about their lives. New episodes every Thursday.

Episode 12 - Careful, there's a broken pickle jar
She wanted to quit this morning. Not the tour. Not the relationship. The whole thing. The podcast, the brand outreach, the content, all of it. Too stressful. Savings getting tight. Can't do everything at once. She said it out loud in the middle of an ordinary Sunday morning sitting across from a man whose arms were sore from shaking 19 gallons of cocktails for a charity event the night before, who ate cottage cheese for breakfast and drank a V8, and who listened without immediately trying to fix it. And then she found her own way back. In this episode Jon and Keisha also cover the correct milk cap colors, the broken pickle jar Jon handled without being asked, New Sock Day, the accidental nap philosophy, and the buttermilk shot he takes every time he makes pancakes. But mostly it is about why they are still doing this; when you listen they will be days away from starting the tour. Episode 11 - The Manhole Cover
Alex and Keisha met at a continuing education course in New York City. The instructor from Ireland thought Keisha was the Canadian. By the end of the week they were roommates, they had walked through the middle of the Pride parade in business attire with no plan, bought flower headbands to blend in, received a free bag of Oreos that tasted exactly the same, gone to Grand Central Station at midnight looking for gluten-free donuts that were obviously closed, and picked up a Manhattan manhole cover on Fifth Avenue at midnight because nobody else was doing anything about it. There was something on their hands afterward. It was not good. In this episode Jon and Keisha introduce the Kingston Ontario stop and the woman who makes it worth crossing an international border. Alex is a dental professional, a brilliant clinician, an online course creator, and Keisha's professional soul sister across seven years of conferences, COVID pivots, and calls that were supposed to be an hour and ran until the iPad died. The Kingston ceremony will be barefoot, off-grid, in the trees. It is the hippie wedding. It is nothing like a bourbon warehouse or a waterpark and that is entirely the point. Plus the Zoom call where everyone finds out which ceremony was the legal one, and a breathing exercise that involves walking around the couch until you feel like you are going to pass out. Episode 10 - Pint Glass Old Fashioned
Adam has been around since he was eight years old. He grew up around Jon's house as his younger brothers best friend, graduated to full-time bartender at the Tap Room, became the Dwight Schrute of the operation, and is now the reason Jon and Keisha are driving through Scranton on the way to Philadelphia. In this episode Jon and Keisha introduce the Philadelphia stop and the friends who make it worth the drive. Adam's New Year's Eve wedding — where the groom's drink was a Maker's Mark old fashioned served in a pint glass for seven dollars, where every staff member had to leave the reception to go open the bar at 9pm, and where Jon and Ben showed up in rare form and Emily was furious. The Jeep that smelled like something nobody could name or confirm. The salmon pants that went down in the Sharpie incident of 2023. The fried rice elbow — two years of tendinitis from wok technique at the North Dakota State Fair at 1am. And the Philly taco, which is a New York slice wrapped around a Philly cheesesteak and eaten like a taco. America turns 250 this June. Jon and Keisha will be in Philadelphia for it. Jon is not going to lick the Liberty Bell. Keisha is wearing a lobster bib at the reception. Kenya has an MD. Adam still owes Keisha a beer she never got to drink while pregnant. Episode 9 - It takes the time it takes
Ken and Janet are responsible for all of this. Not the wedding. Not the podcast. Not the six-hour FaceTime that started everything. Well, actually all three of those things. Ken was a part-time bartender at a restaurant Jon was consulting for, a man who also happened to be the vice president of a construction company, who just did it for love of cocktails. Soup of the day means Miller Lite. That is not negotiable. In this episode Jon and Keisha tell the Kentucky chapter. How Ken and Janet became family. How a gala with thousand dollar tables delivered buffet-style roast beef. How a bourbon release line at 5am produced a text photo of Blanton's Gold with the caption marry me. How Janet drank a third of the bottle at her own retirement party and nobody minded at all. And why the Buffalo Trace bourbon warehouse is where Jon needs to say I do. Because you can't rush bourbon. It takes the time it takes. And so did this. Kentucky is Stop 6. Ken and Janet are waiting. The old fashioned will be made in the hotel room that night. Episode 8 - The Wisconsin Old Fashioned
Some people get serious about dating and keep it quiet around the kids. Jon wrote Reagan a letter. Nearly a year before the engagement, when Jon and Keisha decided this was real and they were building something together, Jon sat down and wrote Reagan a letter. He didn't tell Keisha he was writing it. He didn't ask permission. He just decided he didn't want to withhold affection for Keisha in front of her daughter anymore — and that Reagan deserved to hear why directly from him. In this episode Jon and Keisha introduce the Wisconsin stop and the friends who make it worth crossing state lines. Lisa — the woman who shows up with the right energy every single time, who communicates exclusively through spot-on one-liners, and whose husband Fred once had a very memorable encounter with law enforcement. Plus the Wisconsin old fashioned debate, a waterslide wedding dress moment that was never not going to happen, nine wedding dresses including one that belonged to Grandma, and the Cheese Castle. The eastern leg of the tour is coming. Kentucky is next. JK LOL Storytime is one take, no breaks, no script — just two people telling the truth about their lives. New episodes every Thursday. Episode 7 - Apartment Building C
New mics. Queso Thursday. And a completely random Randy sighting at a gas station on the way home: red mirrored sunglasses indoors, white lumberjack beard, and yelling for Grandpa Randy from across the parking lot. In this episode Jon and Keisha introduce the Utah stop and the woman who was influential in Keisha's younger years. Beth. Apartment Building C, Unit Nine. The friend who was just there: no conditions, no explanation required. They also get into the stolen yellow Volkswagen bug, the first kiss that landed on a cheek instead of where it was supposed to go, and what happens when you make someone a crochet blanket because he's sleeping in his bars during a divorce and you think he might be cold. The western segment is wrapping up. Wisconsin is next. JK LOL Storytime is one take, no breaks, no script — just two people telling the truth about their lives. New episodes every Thursday. Episode 6 - My Golden Knight
Before Jon was Keisha's fiance he was her best friend. Before he was her best friend he was the guy who stayed on the phone all night while someone tried to get into her hotel room in Las Vegas — and then quietly booked a 5am flight to be there by morning. In this episode Jon and Keisha tell the Las Vegas chapter of their story. How a Glacier hike led to a Golden Knights dentist. How a consulting gig turned into a hotel nightmare. How Jon showed up before he was supposed to. And how he called every casino in Las Vegas looking for the Titanic slot machines just because she wanted to find them. The Little White Chapel. Frank Sinatra. A navy suit with a flamingo tie. A Willy Wonka slot machine win and dinner at Del Monaco. Las Vegas is where Jon proved who he was before either of them had words for it. Episode 5 - Top of the Morning, Apparently
It is St. Patrick's Day, Jon knows how to make a proper Irish coffee, and Keisha is there for it, always. That is where this episode starts. From there it goes to Arizona — Gail, Keisha's best friend who was supposed to be a bridesmaid at the original wedding that never happened. The chosen family that showed up when things fell apart. The apartment that did not have internet so they watched Vampire Diaries at mom's house instead. The people who made Keisha who she is before she ever made it to North Dakota. Also: a laser tag kiss that ended exactly the way you would expect it to end, nine wedding dresses for nine weddings, and the time Keisha had a proxy drinker for her 21st birthday. Episode 4 - Sally the Cooler and the Creeper at the Register
Jon and Keisha pull back the curtain on Wedding on Tour for the first time — not just what it is, but how it's actually going to work. Three segments, nine stops, one father on a Harley. In this episode they walk through the first leg of the tour: a roots trip back to Keisha's mountain origins, a grandmother named Minga who crochets one-of-a-kind hats and has never once called Keisha by her actual name, and a reception that involves natural hot springs, a cheeseburger, and one very expensive lesson about what sulfur water does to an Apple Watch. They also introduce Randy — Jon's dad, the officiant for most of the ceremonies, and a man who swore he would never be a Harley guy right up until the moment he won one. And Keisha tells the story of the first time she met him — bouncing on her knees on a Yeti cooler in a sporting goods store while a stranger watched from the cash register. Episode 3 - The Can Opener
When Keisha was five years old her brother was three and they were hungry. She found a can of peaches and didn't know how to open it. So she got down on her knees, pulled her brother down next to her, and prayed. What happened next is the story that explains everything about who she is. In this episode Keisha traces her origin story from a single mom household where hardship built faith, through pizza places and dental offices, a career-defining offer letter handed to her while she was scrubbing floors, building a dental practice from the ground up, discovering a passion for leadership, navigating divorce and burnout, and a 72-hour Christmas stretch that nearly broke her. She also introduces Lucy the puppy, who has opinions about recording days. JK LOL Storytime is one take, no breaks, no script — just two people telling the truth about their lives. Episode 2 - The List of Dares
Jon's resume reads like a list of dares. In this episode he walks through the career that built him — from digging holes in the backyard and counseling Boy Scouts in Minnesota, to answering 911 calls for five years including one involving a severed thumb in a gallon of strawberry milk, to running the only craft-only beer bar in North Dakota, launching a hot dog cart called Fun on a Bun, and building Saul's — a scratch cocktail speakeasy that COVID ultimately took down. Keisha keeps him on track. Mostly. By the end you'll understand exactly how someone goes from selling cell phones at Best Buy to recording a podcast in a basement about taking their wedding on the road across two countries. Episode 1 - I'm the Pilot?
Jon and Keisha introduce their new podcast, JK LOL Story Time, aiming for a casual, bar-like conversation that shares life experiences, humor, and encouragement. They explain they’re both unexpectedly “funemployed” after Jon was let go by his employer and Keisha left a toxic workplace where she lacked leadership support. Inspired by a six-hour FaceTime with friends who suggested they start a podcast, they begin recording from their basement studio. The couple, engaged and originally planning a $45,000 destination wedding, decide instead on a Wedding on Tour: nine ceremonies across nine locations in eight states and Canada over about two weeks and over 6,000 miles, focusing on meaningful time with friends and family.
