Damages of the Prosperity & Word of Faith Doctrines -What Are the Damages
The Prosperity and Word of Faith doctrines cause significant spiritual, psychological, and social damage by distorting core biblical messages about the nature of God, the purpose of faith, suffering, and wealth. Several damages that comes as a result of false doctrines:A Snare - metaphor for anything that traps, entangles, or leads to destruction. It represents a hidden danger, a trap set by the wicked or the devil, that ensnares people through deceit, pride, or other forms of temptation, leading them into trouble and ruin. Examples include snares of greed, self-reliance, and the fear of man, which pulls people away from God. A Hindrance to Spiritual Growth - riches are a hindrance to spiritual growth primarily because they often lead to pride, a false sense of security, and idolatry, displacing God as the ultimate priority. The core issue is not the money itself, but the human heart\'s preoccupation and attitude. Distortion of Core Biblical Messages on the nature of God, the purpose of faith, suffering, and wealth as follows:Distorted View of God\'s Character -- These doctrines often present God as a means to an end, a \"cosmic bellhop\" or \"genie\" who is bound by human faith and words to grant material desires. This contradicts the biblical portrayal of a sovereign God who is to be worshiped for who He is, not for what He provides materially. Misconception of Faith -- Faith is redefined as a self-generated force or a formula for manipulating spiritual laws to obtain wealth and health (\"positive confession\"), rather than the biblical concept of submissive trust in God\'s will and timing. Lack of a Theology of Suffering -- The doctrines leave believers unprepared for the inevitable trials and suffering of life, which the Bible clearly states are a part of the Christian experience and can lead to spiritual growth. When crises hit, faith can be \"shipwrecked\" because expectations built on false promises are not met. Materialism and Self-Centeredness -- The doctrines promote covetousness and discontentment, encouraging an endless pursuit of \"living your best life now\" rather than seeking God Himself, serving others, and laying up treasures in heaven. Damaged Church Reputation -- The actions and lavish lifestyles of some prosperity preachers can harden the hearts of communities toward the church and the true Gospel message, leading to general distrust of Christian ministries.

Damages of the Prosperity & Word of Faith Doctrines - Why Are These Doctrines Taught
The Prosperity and Word of Faith false doctrines cannot make or create utopia in this life, regardless of man’s crafty teaching of these destructive false doctrines, creativity and ingenuity. God has not suspended the curse that He pronounced in the Garden of Eden as a consequence of disobedience from rejecting His authority and violation of His command, that impacts humanity's experience with suffering, death, and a broken relationship with God. Thank the Lord as Believers, we experience a reversal of the curse today with a reconciled relationship with God by forgiveness of our sins through the cross of Jesus Christ having a new life and new transformed nature by the power of the Holy Spirit. So, the curse will remain effective in the earth until Jesus returns to eliminate the consequences of the curse by reversing all wrongs and will permanently destroy and put down all evil and wickedness, the final restoration of making all things new in the New Heaven and New Earth. Teaching false doctrines violates the biblical principles of truth and love, it leads people into apostasy and idolatry. Luke 12:15 clearly says, “A man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions”, this scripture serves these two purposes: the first is warning against greed and covetousness of which these two false doctrines are rooted. A warning to not allow possessions to define your worth or happiness even though possessions do bring temporary comfort and status, possessions are not the source of true happiness or security and does not provide lasting fulfillment or true meaning in life. The second is reminder to prioritize spiritual values over material wealth, to seek a relationship with God and engage with acts of faith and service, to practice contentment and generosity.

Encouragement - Be Not Weary in the Workplace
The believers’ motivation to work is driven by the character of God and his commands. As bearers of his image, we work because our Creator works. We imitate our heavenly Father by being like Him. God commands us to work and as our Father, we trust that his commands are good for us, and as His servants we work to please our Father. How? We work to meet the needs of others, that should help us improve the quality of our work regardless of our earthly boss’s character. Whether we have an unjust boss or a very good boss, we work hard and joyfully to please God our heavenly Master. This should also change how we work when we don’t have earthly overseers. We work hard at home as we wash dishes, vacuum, cook, take care of the children, care for the lawn, shovel the snow, etc., because we are working in light of our Creator’s character and command. We’re working for the Lord.
