Searching For Enough Light To Take Portraits And Video At Night

John McLenaghan Photography. https://www.johnnclenaghan.com. Hows it going everybody? My name is john. I'm a photographer right here in Orlando, Florida. Okay, so tonight we are talking about taking portraits at night and whether or not it's possible. It’s most definitely possible! Right now, I’m standing at a train platform, at night, where there is plenty of light for a portrait. There is plenty of light to record the video that you're watching. Plenty of light. All you have to do is when you're walking around with your subject, whether it be graduation photos, or portrait photos or whatever you’re shooting, is search out the light! Find the light! It is there. You just need to look for it. Looking Forward To Talking With Everybody Again!

You Can Shoot Portraits During The Day!

How's it going everybody? My name is john. I'm a photographer in Orlando, Florida. This is going out to Derek! Derek and I were shooting out here in downtown Orlando today. What you can't tell right now is that it's really really sunny in downtown Orlando. What we did is we tried to find spots where Derek wasn't squinting because of the harsh sunlight. What we found is that there are PLENTY of spots to find, kind of like this one right here! It’s really bright and sunny 10 feet from me, but where I’m sitting is fine. You just got to pick and choose your spots. I hear a lot - you can't take photos or portraits during the day. When there is a really harsh light. You can! But you're just kind of limited to where you can shoot. You just have to use your feet. Find a good spot, and just shoot shoot shoot away. All right, Derek, it was great to work with you today. If you guys want to see those photos, click on my Instagram page, click the link to my website. My Instagram is in the description and footer of every page. Alright, have a great day! I'll talk to everybody again today.

Be Sure To Check Your ISO As You Shoot Photos

John McLenaghan Photography https://www.johnmclenaghan.com How’s it going everybody? My name is john. I'm a photographer in Orlando, Florida. Okay, so today we're going to be talking quickly about ISO in your photography and checking your ISO as you shoot photos. Now, if you get up to maybe 1600, 2000 or even 2400 ISO, you might start to introduce some noise or color grain into your into your photographs that you might not want. What Do You Do? Double check your ISO as you go. Even if you're shooting in auto mode, even if you're not shooting in manual mode! You can be shooting in auto mode, but still need to check! Take an image and check it. You can look at the settings on your photo review screen. Check your image and see if the camera is choosing some really wacky ISO like 5000 or 6000 or something that's going to be introducing lots of noise into your photo. You can make adjustments as you go. Okay check out my website in the description! All sorts of photography goodness! I will talk to everybody again tomorrow.
