Who is Jesus?Throughout Mark’s Gospel, Jesus has revealed Himself through His teaching, miracles, authority, and compassion. Yet as the disciples travel with Him “on the way,” Jesus asks them two questions: “Who do people say that I am?” and, more importantly, “But who do you say that I am?”The world has offered many answers—teacher, miracle worker, revolutionary, or simply one way among many. But Peter’s confession is different: “You are the Christ.” Jesus is not merely a prophet or teacher. He is the promised Messiah—the Anointed One who fulfills the offices of Prophet, Priest, and King.In this sermon, we consider the world’s opinion of Jesus and the disciple’s confession of Jesus. The Second Touch
What does the healing of a blind man in Bethsaida teach us about the Christian life? In Mark 8:22–26, Jesus heals a blind man in two stages, giving us a beautiful picture of how Christ works in the lives of His people. While our spiritual life begins in an instant through Christ, our understanding and sanctification often develop gradually over a lifetime.
The same Savior who opens our eyes continues to sharpen our vision. He patiently leads us, takes us by the hand, removes our distractions, and helps us see Him more clearly. As we walk with Him, we are reminded that spiritual growth is His work from beginning to end—and that we need the church, the Word, prayer, worship, and one another along the way.
One day, our sight will be perfectly restored, and we will see Christ face to face. Until then, we fix our eyes on Him and trust the Savior who began the work, continues the work, and will finish the work.

Do You Not Yet Understand
How quickly we can forget what God has already done when we become consumed with what we think we lack. In Mark 8:14–21, the disciples find themselves worried about having only one loaf of bread—even after witnessing Jesus miraculously feed thousands. Jesus patiently leads them to see that their greatest problem is not a lack of bread, but a failure to remember and trust His provision.In this message, we consider Jesus’ warning to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Herod, the danger of anxiety and spiritual blindness, and the importance of remembering God’s faithfulness. The disciples had Bread in the boat with them, and they still worried about bread. We are often no different. When life doesn’t go according to plan, will we remember who Jesus is, what He has done, and that He is enough?
