Hello, and welcome to the Joplin Toadcast! This podcast is brought to you by the Joplin Toad. The toad is a multimedia platform which celebrates the art, culture, and humor of the city of Joplin, Missouri. We’re here to share Joplin’s creativity with the world. In this episode, our host Mark N. interviews abstract painter, Lori Marble. Lori, who experiences a condition known as dystonia, talks about recovering from a traumatic incident and brain surgery, by teaching herself how to paint left-handed. The resulting creative journey has led to an established presence in the local art world, and a lot of lessons about consistency, creating art for yourself, and overcoming imposter syndrome. We always hope to give you some new inspiration with each new artist interview; please enjoy and pass on to a creative friend!

Hello, and welcome to the Joplin Toadcast! This podcast is brought to you by the one and only Joplin Toad. The toad is a multimedia platform meant to celebrate art, culture, and humor from the city of Joplin, Missouri. In this episode, we bring together three total strangers with one fascinating trait in common: synesthesia. Synesthesia is a neurological condition in which information meant to stimulate one sense, actually stimulates several senses at once. This leads to multi-sensory experiences that are very unique to those with the condition. This episode’s guests are Alan Melot, Aubrey Prunty, and Mindy Stohs. Let’s listen in!
