   Mixtape - 10/18/2026

What’s going on? It’s a question almost all of us have asked at some point. Maybe you’re looking at your own life and wondering what’s going on. Maybe you’re overwhelmed by the news, division, suffering, and uncertainty in the world around you. Or maybe you’re simply exhausted from trying to make sense of everything. In this message, we use the familiar song “What’s Up?” by 4 Non Blondes as a starting point for a much deeper question: How do we follow God when the world doesn’t make sense? The Bible doesn’t shy away from that question. The prophet Habakkuk looked around at violence, injustice, and suffering and essentially asked God, “What is going on?” David asked similar questions in the Psalms. Paul talked about creation groaning and waiting. And Jesus invited people who were weary and burdened to come to Him and find rest. This message reminds us that faith doesn't require us to pretend everything is okay. We can acknowledge the brokenness around us, bring our questions honestly to God, and still choose to trust Him. We may not be able to fix everything happening in the world. But we can love the person in front of us. We can help the person we find along the road. We can choose to see neighbors instead of enemies and take the next faithful step. Because ultimately, our hope isn't found in having all the answers. Our hope is found in the God who sees what we cannot see. If you've been asking, “What's going on?” this message is a reminder that even when we don't know what's happening, we can still know where our hope is. Scriptures referenced: Habakkuk 1–3, Psalm 13, Ecclesiastes 1–2, Ecclesiastes 7:10, Romans 8:18–25, Matthew 11:28, and Luke 10:25–37.

   Built - 10/11/2026

What kind of legacy are you building, and what will be here because you were here? In this episode, we wrap up our series on building by taking a deeper look at what it means to build a life that lasts beyond us. It's easy to spend our days chasing the next goal, meeting responsibilities, and working toward the future. But have we stopped to consider what we're leaving behind in the lives of our children, our relationships, and our communities? Through personal stories, Scripture, and reflections on Journey's 16-year journey, we explore how legacy isn't about recognition, personal success, or getting credit for what we've accomplished. It's about laying a foundation that others can build upon, investing in the next generation, and trusting God to grow what we may never live to see fully developed. Drawing from Psalm 127, Psalm 78, 1 Corinthians 3, and the story of Jesus feeding the five thousand, this message challenges us to consider how we're passing on our faith, who we're investing in, and what we're bringing to the table. Because everyone has something to contribute, and even the smallest offering can make a lasting difference in God's hands. Your legacy isn't just what happens on Sunday. It's what happens Monday morning at home, at work, at school, and in your neighborhood. It's how you love people, how you show up when life gets hard, and how you help others discover hope. In this episode, you'll be challenged to ask three important questions: What are you passing on? Who are you investing in? What will you bring to the table? You may never see the full impact of the seeds you plant today. But that doesn't mean they aren't growing. Let's build something that outlasts us. Scripture references: Psalm 127:1, Psalm 78:5–7, 1 Corinthians 3:5–11, and John 6:1–14.

   Built - 10/04/2026

Under Construction: God Isn’t Finished With You Have you ever wondered why you’re still struggling with the same things even though you’re following Jesus? Maybe you’ve questioned whether you’re growing fast enough, or looked at someone else’s faith and wondered why you aren’t where they are. The truth is simple: you’re under construction. In this message from Journey Christian Church’s Built series, we look at Philippians 1:6 and the promise that the God who began a good work in us will continue that work until it is complete. Following Jesus isn’t about reaching a point where we have everything figured out. It’s about allowing God to continually shape us, transform us, and make us into the image-bearers He created us to be. This message explores the tension between God working in us and our responsibility to meet Him in the work. We’ll talk about spiritual growth, holiness, surrender, Christian community, comparison, and the cost of becoming who God created us to be. Maybe God is working on your anger. Maybe it's your faith, your relationships, your finances, your forgiveness, your trust, or an addiction. Whatever it is, the construction project isn't evidence that God has abandoned you. It may be evidence that He's still building. If you're looking for a Christian church in Shepherdsville, KY, or searching for a church in Bullitt County or the surrounding Louisville area, we hope this message encourages you to keep moving forward in your relationship with Jesus. God started the work. God is still doing the work. And God will finish what He started. Journey Christian Church — Shepherdsville, Kentucky
