Further Than We Can Imagine - Stuck On Purpose - 2026-10-04 - Pastor Jarrod - Elgin Campus
What does it mean to be truly stuck, and what would it take for us to finally move? This message invites us into an honest reckoning with the places in our lives where we have quietly stopped expecting God to break through. Drawing on the powerful account in Matthew 14 where Peter steps out onto the water, we are challenged to see that breakthrough does not simply arrive uninvited. Peter had to ask. He had to make a request bold enough to sound unreasonable. And that is exactly the kind of prayer we are being called to pray together. The 531 prayer is not a polite, safe request. It is a declaration that we believe God can do far more than we could ever imagine. As we explore what it means to get out of the boat, we are reminded that the storms do not stop just because we stay seated inside it. The waves batter us whether we move or not. So the real question becomes not whether we will face the wind and the waves, but whether we will face them standing on the water with our eyes fixed on Jesus or huddled inside a boat that offers comfort but not transformation.
