17. Women in music

Welcome to Episode 17, my lovely listeners. In this one, I'm speaking to three members of the NEWISM event (that's North East Women In Soul Music for those who don't know): Kate Bond, Georgia May, and FALLU. In between all the nervous giggles and slight digressions, we talk about how they all came to meet, how they got into soul music, and what it's like to be young women in the music industry at the minute. So once you've given the podcast a go, I highly recommend that you give all three of the girls a google and their tunes a listen - and, if you can, get yourselves down to the NEWISM event in Newcastle on 28th October!!

If you like what you hear, then make sure to drop me a cheeky follow on Instagram (@_bettydouglas_) for updates on new episodes and stuff! Thank you for listening; appreciate u.

16. Juice on Juice!

It's Episode 16, and I know I always say I'm excited about episodes, but this one is a really special one: I'm talking to Dan and Ben from Juice! Aside from having a genius name, Juice is a very cool, very groovy band based across the pond in NYC and in this episode I'm talking to Dan and Ben about their relationships with social media, masculinity in the music business, and there's even a little bit about swearing in Russian for absolutely no reason. Thank you to them for joining me, and we hope you like what you hear! (Be sure to give their tunes a stream too - once you've listened to the podcast of course...)

If you like what you hear, then make sure to drop me a cheeky follow on Instagram (@_bettydouglas_) for updates on new episodes and stuff! 15. A Nigerian in Bradford

It's been so long! Missed you:( In Episode 15 I spend most of the time listening to my friend Adzira telling me about growing up in Nigeria, moving to England in his early teens, experiencing bullying, racial stereotyping, and learning to be more comfortable with who he is. It was a really enjoyable conversation and made me realise that we don't take the time to ask some of our closest friends about what's going on in their lives. So thank you to Adzira for sharing all of this with me, and I hope you love it as much as we loved recording it! If you like what you hear, then make sure to drop me a cheeky follow on Instagram (@_bettydouglas_) for updates on new episodes and stuff! Thank you for listening; appreciate u.
