The Two Paths of the Heart: Seeking God or Seeking Self (Romans 2:7–10)
<p>In this sermon from Romans 2:7–10, we continue our study of God's righteous judgment and examine the two paths that define every human life. The Apostle Paul contrasts the Godward heart that seeks glory, honor, and immortality with the self-seeking heart that rejects the truth and obeys unrighteousness.</p><p>This passage challenges us to look beyond outward behavior and examine the true desires of our hearts. Are we seeking God's glory or our own? Are our lives marked by Spirit-produced perseverance or by self-rule and rebellion?</p><p>Most importantly, Romans 2 points us to the One who perfectly fulfilled God's standard. Jesus Christ alone perfectly sought the Father's glory, obeyed the truth, and persevered in righteousness. Through His life, death, and resurrection, sinners can be forgiven, justified, and clothed in His righteousness.</p><p>Join us as we explore God's impartial judgment, humanity's desperate need for grace, and the hope found in Christ alone.</p>

God's Kindness and Our Need for Repentance
<p>In Romans 2:4–6, Paul confronts one of the most dangerous deceptions of the human heart: mistaking God's patience for His approval. Many assume that because judgment has not yet come, they must be safe. Yet God's kindness, forbearance, and patience are not signs of innocence, they are an invitation to repentance.</p><p>This message exposes the false security of self-righteousness, the reality of storing up wrath through an unrepentant heart, and the certainty of God's righteous judgment. Ultimately, it points us to the only hope for sinners: Jesus Christ, who bore God's wrath and offers His perfect righteousness to all who repent and believe.</p>

The Trap Springs on the Moralist
<p>In Romans 2:1–3, Paul turns from the openly immoral sinner to the respectable moralist. Those who condemn the sins of others often assume they stand in a safer position before God, yet Paul dismantles that illusion. Our judgments reveal that we know God's standards, leaving us without excuse before Him. God's judgment is not based on appearances, religious credentials, or comparisons with others, but according to truth.</p><p>This sermon explores the futility of self-righteousness, the certainty of divine judgment, and the glorious hope found in Jesus Christ.
