We apologise in advance. The JMC podcast is mostly about the hobby of scale models, making and painting hobbies in miniature. When not modelling, James and Malcolm are just making conversation.

“Polished Jewels”
On launch day of the long-anticipated 1/32 Sea Fury kit, we sit down with the owners of DBMK for an honest, behind-the-scenes conversation about what it took to bring this flagship release to life.
In this interview, they open up about the journey from concept to production—covering the challenges of developing a large-scale kit, the design decisions that shaped the final product, and the passion that drives the brand forward. From tooling hurdles to community feedback, nothing is off the table as they reflect on the realities of running a modern model company in a demanding hobby space.
We also dig into the identity of DBMK as a business: where they see themselves in the industry, how they balance ambition with sustainability, and what sets their approach apart in an increasingly competitive market.
Looking ahead, the conversation turns to the future. What’s next after the Sea Fury? Are more large-scale kits on the horizon? Will they expand into new subjects, scales, or even new directions entirely? The answers offer an exciting glimpse into what modelers can expect from DBMK in the months and years to come.
Whether you’re here for the aircraft, the craftsmanship, or the story behind the brand, this is a must-watch discussion that captures a pivotal moment in DBMK’s journey.
