CSUF Alumna Abbey Fernàndez is a Digital Correspondent at NBC Bay Area and wears many different hats. She hosts & produces NBC Bay Area’s “Synced In” and Telemundo 48’s “Conectados.” She also produces and hosts a series on NBC Bay Area’s YouTube channel called “Hey Abbey.” The series gives an inside look at stories done by the Investigative Unit & Digital Team. In her college years, Abbey was heavily involved on campus at Cal State Fullerton. She was the president of @latjournoscsuf, a part of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists as a student member, and did her part on the campus news and radio shows. There is no direct path in journalism and Abbey makes that very clear. She points out that not all professional connections need to come from internships. Tune in the hear exactly why!
