For over 40 years, Pulitzer Prize winning photojournalist David Swanson has covered war zones (from Bosnia to Afghanistan to Iraq), natural disasters (the 2010 Haiti Earthquake, Hurricane Katrina, the LA Fires) and even red carpets. But, while David's photos can tell you what it looked like standing where he stood in order to take those news photos, they can't tell you what it felt like standing there. […] But those two lenses... You like the prime lenses. Zoom lenses... When they first came out then, I never thought that was much of them. They weren't fast enough. I didn't ever see anything in between 180 and 21. There was no medium range. I could find something with either one of those lenses. I like impact coming in tight with the 180 and the wide angle, being able to get that depth of field with a distorted foreground and stuff like that. And newspapers too that I noticed that the newspaper layout, you got a bigger picture if it was a vertical when they laid it out. Good point. Good point.
