EP #28: Just Thought You'd Like to Know How to Tackle Burnout with Kelli Cullen Jr.

Content Warning: This episode contains discussions of grief, child loss, mental health challenges, suicidal thoughts, and eating disorders. Listener discretion is advised. In this episode of the Just Thought You'd Like to Know Podcast, I sit down with motivational speaker, wellness coach, and creator of YUMMY (Yoga, Understanding, Meditation, Movement & You), Kelli Cullen Jr., for an honest conversation about burnout, resilience, grief, and self-empowerment. Burnout is becoming increasingly common among professionals, business owners, and leaders, but why does it happen, and how can we recognise the signs before reaching breaking point? Together, we explore the impact of constant connectivity, the importance of sleep, mindfulness, movement, and self-awareness, and the simple daily habits that can help us reconnect with ourselves and protect our wellbeing. Kelli also shares her deeply personal journey following the loss of her son, Mikey, and how that experience transformed her understanding of mental health, resilience, and the importance of being heard. This is a powerful conversation about giving yourself permission to pause, setting healthy boundaries, and remembering that looking after yourself isn't a luxury—it's essential. If you've been feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or stuck on autopilot, this episode is for you. 🎙️ Key takeaway: "There is nothing wrong with putting yourself first. It's necessary if you're going to experience how beautiful life can be." — Kelli Cullen Jr.

EP #27: Just Thought You’d Like to Know How to Future-Proof your Career in the Age of AI

Artificial intelligence is transforming the world of work, but what does that mean for graduates, professionals, and the next generation? In this episode of Just Thought You'd Like to Know, Akhil Balagopal sits down with former Microsoft Technology Leader Babith Bhoopalan, whose research into AI and the future of careers has reached more than 30,000 families across 128 countries. Drawing on data from leading organisations including the World Economic Forum and Goldman Sachs, Babith explains why many entry-level jobs are becoming vulnerable to automation, which professions are most likely to withstand AI disruption, and why uniquely human qualities such as empathy, communication, judgement, creativity, and curiosity may become more valuable than ever. The conversation explores the impact of AI on industries including law, the changing nature of professional careers, and how young people can prepare for a future where technology continues to reshape the workplace. As Babith argues, the challenge is not to compete with AI on efficiency, but to develop the human strengths that AI cannot replicate. 🎙 Hosted by Akhil Balagopal #AI #FutureOfWork #Careers #ArtificialIntelligence #Technology #Leadership
