Justice Radio

About Justice Radio

Justice Radio is a talk-show that tackles hard questions about our criminal legal system in Maine. How do we actually envision justice? Does our current criminal legal system provide justice? Do prisons and jails keep us safe? What should accountability and repair look like in the wake of harm? How do people releasing into communities cope with the overwhelming adjustment to technology changes, finding housing and work, and building relationships? Our rotating hosts will offer an ongoing 4-week cycle of shows that address these and other questions through moderated conversations with leaders in the field of criminal justice, abolitionist organizers, justice-impacted people, and other experts and community members.

Regrounding our Definitions of Youth Justice

The Young People's Caucus and Portland Outright have teamed up for a new era in the youth justice podcast segment. In this episode we introduce Sophie from Portland Outright and reground with each other on our definitions of youth justice and how it shows up in the way we see the world. Sophie and Liv play with some liberatory visioning to think about how justice is embodied and how it shows up in the work. Tune in for some imaginative dreaming, questions on the applications of theories of justice, and lighthearted giggles. We invite you to ask yourself the same questions we asked of each other, or bring them to your friends and family.
