#31 het alles veranderende belletje

Vandaag is het 21 jaar geleden dat ik het alles veranderende telefoontje kreeg. Met 180km per uur sjeesde ik over de Brienenoord. Op weg naar huis. Op weg naar m’n moeder die net te horen had gekregen dat ze borstkanker had. Ik realiseer me hoe heftig die tijd was voor ons allemaal, maar ook voor die jonge vrouw die ik was. Om te overleven stopte ik m’n gevoelens weg. Met dure kadoos probeerde ik haar beter te maken. Niks hielp. In gedachten sla ik een troostende arm om de Maaike van 21 heen. De arm die ze toen zo nodig had, maar waar ze niet om kon vragen. --- Muziek van Henri van den Berg
