Kalispell 1st Church of the Nazarene strives to help people connect with what it means to Love God, Love People, & Have fun.
Through our Bible focused Worship Services & studies, to our community outreach, to our support of Nazarene World Missions, we want people to experience a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and then share Him with the world around us.
In Romans 5:12–21, we discover how Adam’s disobedience brought sin and death into the world and how Jesus’ obedience brings forgiveness and new life. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus offers us a restored relationship with God and hope beyond death. This message invites us to receive God’s abundant grace through faith, turn from sin, and take practical steps toward healing and obedience. What sin broke in Adam, grace restores in Jesus.

Made Right By Grace
In Romans 3:9–31, Paul confronts us with an uncomfortable truth: none of us is good enough to make ourselves right with God. Yet the gospel announces that God offers the righteousness we lack as a free gift of grace through faith in Jesus. “Made Right by Grace” invites us to stop comparing, stop performing, and trust the One who paid it all.

Lost Close to Home
Romans 2 reveals that we can remain close to the Father’s house while becoming distant from His heart. Like the older brother in Jesus’ parable, we may recognize sin in others while hiding behind our own morality, religious performance, and self-righteousness. Yet no record of good works can put God in our debt or replace the inward transformation only His Spirit can accomplish. The Father lovingly pursues both rebellious children and resentful rule-keepers, inviting us to lay down our pride, receive His mercy, and share His joy when the lost come home.

Freedom to Leave -- Invited Home
Romans 1:18–32 takes us into the “far country,” where humanity exchanges the Creator for created things and discovers that sin’s promise of freedom leads to bondage. Like the father in Jesus’ story of the prodigal son, God gives us freedom to choose while allowing our choices to carry real consequences. Yet the gospel announces that the Father has not stopped watching the road: through Jesus, His grace invites us to turn toward home. We do not have to remain where our choices have taken us—God’s grace will meet us on the road and begin making us new.

When God Overturns the Story
In Esther 8–10, a decree of death becomes a testimony of deliverance as God overturns what evil intended. This message reminds us that what appears final does not have the final word—and while the story is still unfolding, God calls us to courageous faithfulness. Because Jesus is risen, we can trust God with every unfinished chapter.

Courage Without Control
In Esther 5–7, Esther shows us that faithful courage takes the next obedient step and trusts God with the outcome. Her surrender stands in sharp contrast to Haman’s grasping for control, revealing how pride and resentment can imprison the heart. Through Esther’s story—and ultimately through Jesus—we discover this freeing truth: obedience is ours; the outcome is God’s.

The Power You Don't Have to Prove
In this sermon from Esther 3, we see how Haman’s selfish use of power reveals the danger of pride, control, offense, and manipulation. But through Jesus, we are invited to surrender our influence to God, using power not to prove ourselves, but to serve others in love.

When God is the Only One Watching
n this sermon from Esther 2:21–23, we see that hidden faithfulness is never wasted because God sees what others overlook. Mordecai’s quiet obedience reminds us to do good even when resentment would be easier, reward is not guaranteed, and no one else may notice. Because Jesus first loved and gave Himself for us, we can stay faithful in the hidden places and trust that God never loses track of obedience.

Placed with Purpose
In Esther 2, we see that God can use where we are, even before we understand why. Esther is placed in circumstances she did not choose, in a world marked by broken power, uncertainty, and limited control. Yet even there, God is quietly working through her faithfulness, wisdom, and favor. This sermon reminds us that while we may not choose the season, timing, or circumstances, we can choose to be faithful right where God has placed us.

When God Seems Hidden
In Esther 1, we see a world obsessed with image, control, and fragile power — a world not so different from our own. Yet even when God seems hidden, Esther reminds us that He is not absent, and He is still forming His people to live faithfully for such a time as this.
