Kate Talks "who is truly responsible for UPHOLDING your boundaries....?" | 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Hi!!!! Sooooo, all I will say here to get you to listen to the episode is....YOUR PERSONAL BOUNDARIES ARE NEVER THE RESPONSIBILITY OF ANOTHER TO UPHOLD. They can comply or not to what it is that you model and to your level of self respect...HOWEVER, holding someone other than yourself to be UPHOLDING your boundaries is actually you stepping way out of yours! Have a listen 😁

Kate Talks "objectivity vs subjectivity in empathetic relating"| tools make for great technicians...
Remember feeling triggered? And then how the person in front of you suddenly lost their uniqueness and subjectivity, and became an object of your dysregulation and discomforts?? This is a dynamic situation that many try to resolve with "empathy", however, empathy is an embodied maintenance of the other as subject, not an object. Remember, tools make for great technicians but not necessarily for spacious listeners who can afford to make room for the way another is making sense of their reality :)

Kate Talks "what it takes to afford empathy" | further examinations of Empathy
Here I talk about how the focus needs not be on how to get better at empathy and empathizing, rather, focus desperately needs to shift towards learning how to self regulate our nervous systems and how to up our self validating game. Very important to parenting too!

Kate Talks "a case against empathy" | too much emphasis is put on this quality
Here I talk about my problems with how much emphasis and honor we are giving to empathy. I see this leading to ultimate self harm, in that this focus on it is leading away from keeping a very necessary maintenance between where one person ends and another begins.
