Two 🌤️Sunny Skys: One Austin Unscripted — Content, Community & Queer Life
What does it really take to build a platform, put yourself out there, and stay true to who you are?
On this episode of Keeping Austin Queird, I sit down with my friend Skyler, the creator behind @austinunscripted, to talk about content creation, queer life, and the city we both call home.
Skyler shares her journey from working behind the scenes in unscripted reality TV to creating her own platform focused on Austin, community, and the issues she cares about.
We get into the reality of being a content creator, going viral (and dealing with the comments that come with it), why she doesn’t necessarily identify with the word “influencer,” turning down opportunities that don’t align with her values, and her advice for anyone afraid to put themselves out there.
We also talk about her experience as a queer woman in Austin, the need for more spaces for queer women, dating in Austin, some of her favorite local spots, and why supporting other creators matters more than people realize.
It’s funny, candid, queer, and—as you’d expect—completely unscripted. 🌈🎙️

A Wine Maker Pouring Her Own Path: Rae Wilson & Wine for the People 🍷🍾
In this episode of Keep Austin Queird, Sky sits down with Rae Wilson, founder and winemaker of Wine for the People, to talk about the unexpected path that took her from playing music and working in restaurants to becoming a sommelier, winemaker, and entrepreneur in Austin.
Rae shares how working in hospitality sparked a fascination with wine that eventually took her to Napa Valley, Portugal, France, and back to Texas—where she discovered an emerging wine region full of possibility and decided to create something of her own.
We get into what makes Texas wine unique, building Wine for the People, the story behind Dandy Rosé and La Valentía, and what it's like being a queer woman in an industry where women are still significantly underrepresented on the production side.
Rae also shares her advice for queer people entering spaces where they don't see themselves represented: be bold, find mentors, make connections, and don't wait for someone who looks like you to open the door.
A colorful conversation about following curiosity, taking risks, creating your own opportunities, and making room at the table for everyone.
In this heartfelt episode of Keeping Austin Queird, Caitlin opens up about choosing known sperm donors, becoming a mom, raising two incredible kids, and what she wishes everyone understood about LGBTQ+ families.
It's one of our most honest and heartfelt conversations yet.🎧 Listen now.
