Encouragement for parents worried about remote learning during the time of the you-know-what. Aimed especially at those trying to survive with kids in the lower-primary years. We share the parenting ideas and mind hacks we've learnt that have helped us through the juggle of work and home-schooling over the past few years.
What's important in our routine? How to manage the learning needs of multiple lower-primary kids? How do you get any non-kid related work done? Hi! I'm Jen, and I’d love to share with you how I try and stay in reasonably calm headspace (at least some of the time!) while homeschooling my kids and juggling work and keeping everyone alive.Although homeschooling is different to remote-learning - in that you as the parent are not responsible for setting curriculum and monitoring your child’s progress - there still remains the parenting challenges of being with your kids 24/7 and getting them to listen to you and do their work and finding time to get your own work done. I’m not an expert, I’m a parent who is learning and struggling along beside you, but I want to share what I can to encourage you during this season to keep loving yourself and your precious kids. If your situation is especially complex or challenging please seek professional advice. As my kids ages are 8, 6 and nearly 5 the focus is on surviving the lower-primary bracket.

Putting self-care above that extra learning activity
Why is self-care super important when our kids are with us 24/7? Hi! Dealing with (unrealistic) expectations
Is remote learning actually a time to shoot ahead academically? Am I letting my kids down if I don't follow a highly structured classroom schedule? Hi! I'm Jen, and I’d love to share with you how I try and stay in reasonably calm headspace (at least some of the time!) while homeschooling my kids and juggling work and keeping everyone fed.Although homeschooling is different to remote-learning - in that you as the parent are not responsible for setting curriculum and monitoring your child’s progress - there still remains the parenting challenges of being with your kids 24/7 and getting them to listen to you and do their work and finding time to get your own work done. Identifying the mindsets that are making us more stressed about remote learning (than maybe we need to be)
Why are people feeling like they’re heading into an overwhelming period of survival with this remote-schooling thing? How can we adjust our thinking to cope better?Hi!
