Who gets to be a victim? The Pink Nipple Theory and Black Womanhood
On this episode of Keeping It Kuntroversial, we dive into the 'Pink Nipple Theory'—an unfiltered exploration of how societal purity standards are inherently racialized, favoring white women while subjecting Black women to relentless scrutiny and double standards.
We unpack the ways society nitpicks its victims, holding Black women to impossible standards while granting others the privilege of innocence and softness. Why is purity still a currency reserved for white femininity? Why is the world so quick to demonize Black women for behaviors that are celebrated in others?
This episode takes a raw and honest look at respectability politics, media portrayals, and the deep-rooted biases that shape perceptions of beauty, morality, and worth. Expect spicy takes, hard truths, and a call to dismantle the narratives that hold Black women back.
Tune in for a thought-provoking conversation that challenges societal norms and calls out the hypocrisy at every turn. Let’s get into it!

Validation, Vogue, and Vulnerability: Exploring The Queer Scene as a Neurodivergent Trans Girl
On this episode of Keeping It Kuntroversial With Kourtney, I’m sharing my deeply personal journey of navigating Johannesburg’s queer nightlife and ballroom scenes—not just as a trans girl in the early stages of my transition but also as a neurodivergent woman. Johannesburg’s queer spaces are vibrant, chaotic, and full of life, but they can also be overwhelming, filled with unspoken rules, social hierarchies, and moments that make you question where you belong.
This episode explores the intersections of identity, nightlife, and culture, diving into what it means to seek connection and validation in spaces that are both liberating and demanding. Whether you’re in the ballroom or on the dance floor, it’s all about showing up as your most authentic self—even if that self is still a work in progress.
