This podcast is about how we can stop keeping up with the Joneses, take the stress off of trying to create homes that live up to some perceived outside ideal and instead create a home that feels authentic to us and reflects who we truly are and what home truly means for each one of us
Be the Beautiful Hot Mess That You Are with Kristin Lohmeyer
On today's episode I talk to Kristin Lohmeyer, she's a stay-at-home mom, but first and foremost an explorer of life and on a journey to discovering who she is. We talk about how the discoveries she's made about herself, and learning to stay true to who she is, also has helped her approach her home with more ease. We talk about the Marie Kondo-train we both jumped on, only to realize that folding clothes a certain way was too much for us to handle, and how for both of us, decluttering always ends up with us driving around with bags in our car for weeks! Lots of laughter in this episode, I hope you enjoy!

Spending Money
Do you feel guilty about spending money on your home, or just in general? On this week's miniepisode I share some of the ephiphanies I've had around discovering what are the areas of life that are most important to me, and why there is no need to feel guilty when choosing to invest your money in those areas; and also, how that realization can help you let go of the areas of your life where you may be spending money, even though that is not really something that inspires you or hold any meaning for you.

Imperfect action in home design
You've probably heard the saying "only action will move you forward", and this is so true when it comes to designing your home as well. On today's episode I share how losing my voice and not being able to record the podcast, again reminded me of the importance of allowing ourselves to make mistakes and not being afraid of starting something new, or taking action, because we are afraid we might not live up to some expectations or messing up somehow. And this is something I see in my design clients as well; how the fear of messing up or making a mistake, is the number one reason for feeling stuck and overwhelmed when it comes to making design decisions for their homes. So tune in for this little shorty miniepisode!
And if you're intersted in learning all the tools, tricks and design principles to mastering designing a home that you love and also, how to take action based on all that knowledge, I would like to invite you to join my 4-week course "Become Your Own Interior Designer".
