   Lucky Yates

Live from Dad's Garage in Atlanta, Georgia! Kevin invites his fake son "Blevin" to announce the podcast so they can finally spend some quality time together. Kevin loves Blevin. But if there's one thing he loves more than Blevin, it's Atlanta. In fact, he loves Atlanta so much that he also invites his fake girlfriend onstage to sing a song about it! Later, Kevin performs a brand new sketch about a CEO who wants you to shred everything...but it's not because there's something wrong...it's just that...he wants you to shred everything. And then, he sits down with Archer's Lucky Yates for an interview that inadvertently becomes a debate about whether The Goonies is a good movie or not. --- Kevin McDonald's Kevin McDonald Show is a Forever Dog Podcast: https://foreverdogpodcasts.com/podcasts/kevin-mcdonalds-kevin-mcdonald-show Learn more about your ad choices. Todd Barry, Judah Friedlander, and Natalie Prass

At long last, your favorite physical comedian, Kevin McDonald, has returned to his audio podcast! And he’s brought Judah Friedlander, Todd Barry, and Musical Guest Natalie Prass with him. But first, Kevin gives listeners a sneak peak at his joke-writing process (5:40), sings a comedy about writing a comedy song because he's out of ideas (8:15), and performs a brand new sketch about a miserable man and the death of his wife from a sustained, minor, annoying pain (11:15). And for the main course! Kevin sits down with Judah & Todd to talk about their Netflix specials, bombing onstage and on TV, the origin of Judah’s style and onstage persona, and whether Todd was meant to be a phone prank comic (22:03). And after, musical guest Natalie Prass performs a three-song mini-concert (1:03:30)! Special Thanks to sketch performers Hallie Haas & Maggie Widdoes! Recorded live at Union Hall in Brooklyn, NY for the Brooklyn Podcast Festival! --- Kevin McDonald's Kevin McDonald Show is a Forever Dog Podcast: https://foreverdogpodcasts.com/podcasts/kevin-mcdonalds-kevin-mcdonald-show Learn more about your ad choices. "Rock Opera" (w/ Ben Gibbard)

Forever Dog Presents: Kevin McDonald’s Rock Opera! The year is 1991. Kevin is living in Toronto working on a small little HBO show called Kids In The Hall. He’s also in a toxic relationship with a woman named Cheater, who regularly cheats on him. But Kevin is aware of this devastating truth and does what any logical person would do in this situation: he asks Cheater to marry him (9:01). Dave Foley, future star of A Bugs Life (played by Death Cab For Cutie’s Ben Gibbard), pleads with Kevin to not marry Cheater (13:00). Meanwhile, a Texas producer hired by Lorne Michaels books Kevin & Dave on the Joan Rivers Show (15:30), whisking him away to the Big Apple just before Cheater says they shouldn’t get married (16:55). Kevin is despondent, but Dave drags him out of bed for a raucous night on the town (20:47) — a night that involves copious amounts of alcohol, an AIDS benefit, more cheating, and an ambiguous moral (22:30). After the opera, Kevin interviews Ben Gibbard (41:11) and invites him to play a two-song acoustic set to close the night: Teardrop Windows (57:00) and Such Great Heights (59:48). Crank the volume, slip into your most expensive outfit, and tap along to the pulsing rhythm of Kevin McDonald’s Rock Opera, which in this short time, has already been lauded as “the best podcast rock opera of the week." CAST Kevin: Kevin McDonald Dave Foley: Ben Gibbard Announcer/Keyboards: Ron Hippe Cheater: Christine Riippi NY Woman/Joan Rivers: Sarah Hanchar Texas Producer/Men at Benefit: Paul Levy Guitar: Jan Ciganik Recorded live at Unexpected Productions in Seattle Sound Engineering by William Smith, HatchBack LLC --- Kevin McDonald's Kevin McDonald Show is a Forever Dog Podcast: https://foreverdogpodcasts.com/podcasts/kevin-mcdonalds-kevin-mcdonald-show Learn more about your ad choices. Sasheer Zamata, 5j Barrow, and Josh Gondelman

Kevin is back with an all new episode of Kevin McDonald's Kevin McDonald Show, and this time, unpublished author and part-time lifeguard Art Fiddle (Josh Gondelman) is announcing. That might not mean anything to you, but trust me -- Art Fiddle is a big get! After putting some of his patented "unpublished author, part-time lifeguard spin" on the show's opening, Kevin explains what it means to make a living as a "noise maker." He then performs an original song that eulogizes all of his dead comedy premises, accompanied by musical guest, 5j Barrow. Sasheer Zamata joins Kevin for an original #sketch and then sits down for an interview about the #Trekkie origins of her name, her experience on #SNL, "Government Camp" in Indiana, being a Celebrity Ambassador for the Women's Rights Project at the #ACLU, and oh so much more! Kevin tells the 17th best "Scott Thompson is crazy" story. And last, but certainly not least (!), 5j Barrow closes out the show with an electric three song set! Andy Richter, Aimee Mann, Dana Gould, and Mark McKinney

Live from Largo at the Coronet in LA! Kevin welcomes Andy Richter (Conan), Dana Gould, special guest Mark McKinney (Kids in the Hall), & musical guest Aimee Mann onto the podcast. Except, uh oh... Embarrassing... Kevin can't even get his own beloved sketch "Backdraft Part 2" performed past the objections of his guests, friends, and guardian angel. Are the walls closing in? Nah..... In place of the sketch, Kevin loses himself in a reflective moment, standing on stage before a sell out crowd, wearing a plastic firefighter's helmet. He also sings a song about telling a story about masturbation. And then he tells a story about masturbation. The one that he sang about. This is, of course, after The Announcer (Dana Gould) is peeled apart like an onion, his various secret agendas laid bare. The Big Man. Casual Italian Dining. Sexual exploration. Identity theft. Professional rivalries. The Announcer is a piece of work. And this description has been proceeding in reverse chronological order. Moving forward... Kevin conducts a can't-miss interview with Andy Richter. Kevin digs into Andy's comedy roots, family background, and brief but glorious tenure as homecoming king of Yorkville High School in Yorkville, IL. Finally... You get what you really came for... A pair of beautiful songs from Aimee Mann accompanied on violin. Aimee's also nice enough to answer a few stuttering, rambling questions from Kevin. --- Kevin McDonald's Kevin McDonald Show is a Forever Dog Podcast: https://foreverdogpodcasts.com/podcasts/kevin-mcdonalds-kevin-mcdonald-show Learn more about your ad choices. Halloween In July! LIVE

Live from Union Hall in Brooklyn! The producers of “Kevin McDonald’s Kevin McDonald Show” take over because of Kevin’s failure to attract a broad commercial podcast audience (:40). A well-travelled socialite (Brian McCann), also named Kevin McDonald, is installed as the show’s new announcer, making Kevin suspicious (4:13). Is he being replaced? Then, Kevin performs a song (8:20) and is forced to read three chapters from his “scandalous tell-all” he didn’t write (11:10). Later, TJ Miller joins Kevin in a new sketch about a father’s determination to build the best Haunted House in the neighborhood (also featuring Jo Firestone, Sarah Heveron-Smith, Andrew Block) (16:38). Then an interview! TJ reminisces about the time his college paid for Kevin to come teach improv, expresses his hatred for the organic opening in improv, and discusses absurdism in comedy (28:42). Last, but certainly not least, Craig Finn (The Hold Steady) plays "Maggie I've Been Searching For Our Son" from Faith In the Future (1:02:00) and "Jester & June" (1:07:20) // "Be Honest" (1:12:43) from his latest record We All Want the Same Things. --- Kevin McDonald's Kevin McDonald Show is a Forever Dog Podcast: https://foreverdogpodcasts.com/podcasts/kevin-mcdonalds-kevin-mcdonald-show Learn more about your ad choices. Susanna Hoffs (The Bangles)

On a special in-studio episode, Kevin chats with Susanna Hoffs about the origins of The Bangles, punk rock memories, and her signature side eye. Susanna recounts seeing the final Sex Pistols concert with Belinda Carlisle, badgering Rodney Bingenheimer for airtime, touring with Cyndi Lauper and Queen, and much more. Meanwhile, Kevin is nearly brought to tears twice, the first time by a Mike Myers anecdote and the second time by a Big Star spelling anomaly. And make sure to listen through to the end of the episode, where Susanna narrates the brief history of Ming Tea, her once (and future?) faux retro mod band with Mike Myers and Matthew Sweet. --- Kevin McDonald's Kevin McDonald Show is a Forever Dog Podcast: https://foreverdogpodcasts.com/podcasts/kevin-mcdonalds-kevin-mcdonald-show Learn more about your ad choices. Rob Corddry and Eleni Mandell

Kevin is joined by special guest Rob Corddry (The Daily Show, Children's Hospital) and musical guest Eleni Mandell for a fantastic new episode that hasn't aged a day since its live recording nearly two weeks ago at Nerdmelt in Los Angeles. Rob stars in a brand new sketch written by Kevin about an office worker with a persistent internal monologue. Rob and Kevin talk The Hindenburg Explodes, comedy vs acting vs comedy acting vs acting comedy, Daily Show memories, and much much more. Eleni sings three beautiful and poignant songs. And Kevin tells a story about an unfortunate altercation with a skinhead that ends, as all such stories must, with a hilarious retelling on a podcast. --- Kevin McDonald's Kevin McDonald Show is a Forever Dog Podcast: https://foreverdogpodcasts.com/podcasts/kevin-mcdonalds-kevin-mcdonald-show Learn more about your ad choices. Mike Myers and We Are Scientists

Live from The Bell House at NYC Podfest! Kevin welcomes his old friend and legendary comedian, Mike Myers, onto the show to help teach the ponderous art of sketch comedy to the electric New York audience and the show’s Three-Headed Podcast Announcer (18:30). But first, Kevin premieres a brand new song all about his life as a minor-comedy celebrity, accompanied by the very talented We Are Scientists (7:05). Then, Kevin recalls getting his first laugh, injuring himself in a football huddle, and offending his alcoholic father(11:30) before sitting down with the great Mike Myers for an unforgettable interview (31:56)! Together, they talk about when they first met, Mike’s many nicknames (including “sucky baby”), his French-Scottish accent, François Truffaut & Peter Sellers, his first days at SNL, the origins of Wayne’s World & Austin Powers, Del Close, how cellphones killed improv for him, and (shockingly) much, much more. Finally, We Are Scientists grace the stage with a soon-to-be-cult-classic cover of the “Woman, Whoaaa Man” Poem from “So I Married an Axe Murderer” (1:11:56), a beautiful acoustic rendition of “Buckle” from their latest album “Helter Seltzer” (1:13:29), and the toe-tapping hit, “After Hours,” off their third studio album, “Brain Thrust Mastery” (1:16:40). --- Kevin McDonald's Kevin McDonald Show is a Forever Dog Podcast: https://foreverdogpodcasts.com/podcasts/kevin-mcdonalds-kevin-mcdonald-show Learn more about your ad choices. Craig Finn (The Hold Steady)

Kevin McDonald’s Kevin McDonald Show is back with a very special in-studio interview with Craig Finn from The Hold Steady! Shortly after questioning his cloudy cup of water and insulting a country, Kevin talks with Craig about his latest album “We All Want The Same Things,” the philosophy behind his songwriting, and his illustrious musical career with The Hold Steady and as a solo artist. They discuss humor in music, The Replacements vs. Hüsker Dü, writing during politically tense times, “classic rock bands” crossing the Canadian border, and much much more. Plus at the end of the show (1:19:00), Craig plays a beautiful, acoustic rendition of “Be Honest” from “We All Want The Same Things.” --- Kevin McDonald's Kevin McDonald Show is a Forever Dog Podcast: https://foreverdogpodcasts.com/podcasts/kevin-mcdonalds-kevin-mcdonald-show Learn more about your ad choices. Kevin is joined by fellow Kid In The Hall and best bud, Scott Thompson, and dear friend Dana Gould for a night of comedy, music, and cat euthanasia stories! After a sarcastic and haughty introduction from Dana (1:36), Kevin describes life as a "fake daddy" (4:52) living in Winnipeg. He then sings an emotional song about being in "Not-LA" alongside Jesse Valenzuela & Scott Hessel from Gin Blossoms (10:43). Scott and fellow comedian Phil Casale join Kevin onstage for a brand new sketch involving cocky bastards, cubicles, and floaty boats (16:24). Scott then tells an unforgettable story about putting down his cat, Uday Hussein (24:06). Finally, Jesse & Scott close out the show with two beautiful songs (50:19).
