As much as we would like to be Latvian and love living here… we will always be only ‘Kinda Latvian’. We are foreigners to this country but that has allowed us to experience or see Latvia from a different perspective. We want to share our experiences, stories and viewpoints on Latvia, Latvian culture and being foreigners in a different land. We hope this will be an entertaining listen and help people see a ‘kinder’ perspective and look for the positive in your home country, whether that is Latvia or somewhere else. The majority of the podcast will be in English with bits of 'kinda Latvian'!

Kinda Latvian - 'Christmas in Latvia' - Episode 8
It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas and to get us into the festive spirit, we decided to make this the topic of episode 8. Christmas is a time to bring people together, but the activities people partake in often depend on where they live. Latvia claims to have had the first Christmas tree in the world, so it is no surprise that they have many traditions. We talk about some of the Christmas traditions we have enjoyed in Latvia, share our own traditions and Joe tells us how he saved the ‘Christmas spirit’ for a Latvian kid with the help of a BMW and a Santa Claus suit…
Apologies for the audio on this episode, we forgot to switch on the microphone! :D
We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Thanks for listening and we hope you enjoyed it! Be sure to subscribe, like and share!! Be kind and stay 'Kinda Latvian'.
