[…] And what does that mean and what is happening with that now? Well, in 2001 and 2002, the Forest Service set aside the areas that hadn't been roaded yet. on public lands. And they said, you know, these places don't have a lot of timber values right now because all the good timber has been cut and the easy to get to timber has been cut. And these places have other values. They have wildlife values. They provide clean water for communities that get their drinking water from these places. They're really important. And in order to secure those areas in the long term, they propose what they call the roadless rule. that in those places, they would set aside those places so that you couldn't build roads and continue to road those places and disturb them.
