   The Vision That Changes Everything

In this sermon, the focus is on Isaiah's vision in chapter 6, where God's holiness, sovereignty, and grace are powerfully revealed against the backdrop of King Uzziah's death and a nation in spiritual decline. The vision centers on the throne room of heaven, where Isaiah witnesses the seraphim proclaiming God as "Holy, holy, holy," underscoring God's absolute uniqueness and purity. A key theme that emerges is the proper response to God's holiness: Isaiah is convicted of his own sinfulness and confesses, "I am a man of unclean lips," demonstrating humility and dependence on God for cleansing. The discussion explores how God not only exposes sin but provides grace and forgiveness, symbolized by a coal from the altar touching Isaiah's lips and removing his guilt. The sermon then moves to Isaiah's calling—he responds with, "Here am I, send me," showing genuine surrender before knowing the difficulty of his assignment. God warns Isaiah that his message will be met with hardened hearts, serving as a form of judgment on persistent rebellion. The dangers of resisting God's word are highlighted, warning that repeated rejection can lead to spiritual insensitivity. Despite the message of judgment, the sermon ends with hope: even after devastation, a "stump" or remnant remains, pointing to God's ongoing faithfulness and the promise of the coming Messiah. Ultimately, listeners are encouraged to reflect on their own attitudes toward God's holiness and word, remembering that God's redemptive purposes continue, no matter the circumstances.

   Morning by Morning

In this sermon, the conversation focused on the significance of daily prayer and listening to God, inspired by Isaiah 50:4. Using personal reflections on the legacy of a praying mother-in-law, the sermon highlighted how spiritual habits, such as starting each day with God, can have a lasting impact on families. One concept discussed was the importance of intentionally listening to God each morning, following the example set by Jesus. A key theme that emerged was the need to set aside distractions and cultivate a willingness to hear God's voice, allowing His words to shape both our hearts and our speech. The discussion explored the power of words to either harm or heal, encouraging believers to use their speech to sustain and encourage those who are weary. The sermon closed with three simple prayers for the morning: gratitude for God's awakening, openness to listening, and a desire for words that glorify God. The overarching message is that, while spiritual growth is a journey with ups and downs, following Jesus' model leads to deeper devotion and a life that brings blessing to others.

   The Great Arraignment

In this sermon, the focus is on launching a series about the book of Isaiah, titled "The Holy One of Israel: The Vision of Isaiah." The message introduces Isaiah as a foundational book for Christians, known for its profound depiction of God's holiness, justice, and mercy, as well as its central role in pointing to the Messiah. A key theme that emerged was Isaiah's sweeping vision, stretching from the political and social turmoil of his day through prophecies about future hope and restoration. The discussion explored how Isaiah addressed a people who maintained religious rituals but whose hearts were far from God, emphasizing that their real problem was not lack of religion, but lack of relationship and justice. Several points were raised, including vivid images of God's indictment of his people's sin, as well as recurring invitations to repentance and promises of cleansing and renewal. The sermon relates Isaiah's warnings to contemporary life, noting that modern believers can also fall into empty religious habits and misplaced trust. Importantly, the message highlights God's ultimate invitation: though judgment is real, God still calls his people to return, promising forgiveness and transformation. The sermon closes by connecting Isaiah's hope to Jesus, the suffering servant who makes forgiveness possible, and encourages listeners to personally respond by reflecting on their own lives and walking in the light of the Lord.
