Kingdom Overflow is a church congregation for an emerging generation.
We believe God is drawing people to Himself, and together. Calling them out to live lives of intimate worship, expectant pursuit, extreme love, and to overflow out.
We believe that God has called us to create a church that shares the values of our parent church, St Luke’s, but with a specific mission. To equip, train, mentor, facilitate and release people to become leaders in this generation who disciple others. We often say that “discipling” is like the ripple effect.
Once one person is discipled, they go and disciple another person, who disciples another, who disciples another... so on and so forth!
With that in mind, we are starting to release our Sunday evening sermons to allow those in our community to connect with a message they missed and to share them with our wider church family.
Tom shares honestly from his own story — a childhood marked by crisis, suspension from school, and a disabled father — and how one local vicar’s persistent, unglamorous love reached him when no church service could. Looking at Matthew 9, he points out that before Jesus sent out His disciples, He was first moved by compassion for the crowds.
Tom’s challenge to us is to reorder what we chase as a church: not a better gathering or a bigger vision, but people we’re willing to see and suffer alongside, the way Nehemiah’s calling began with weeping over a broken wall before it ever became a plan to rebuild it.

Summer Series 1 - Biblical friendship and devotion
David and Jonathan with utmost trust in the Lord: Biblical friendship and devotion
Brody takes us back to 1 Samuel to look at an often-overlooked figure: Jonathan, Saul’s son and David’s closest friend. From the risky faith of a two-man skirmish against the Philistines to the costly loyalty of warning David that Saul meant to kill him, Jonathan’s story is one of trusting God in small steps without seeing the whole staircase.
Brody draws out what made this friendship so remarkable — sacrificial, honest, and centred on God rather than status or self-interest — and challenges us to be that kind of friend: present, loyal, and willing to lay down our own comfort for someone else’s sake.

The Book of James: Part 11 - Effective Fervent Prayer
Today Josh closes out the series of James with the question of what it actually means to pray in faith. Using Elijah's story in 1 Kings — a man as ordinary and human as the rest of us — he draws a sharp line between powerless prayer, which hopes without really expecting, and faith-filled prayer, which prays from the confidence of knowing who God is.
